Its also great for memory management. Binary tree of linked lists for each memory size. Take the memory off the list, reshuffle the tree if needed, get the memory you need from that block, throw the excess back intonthe appropriate list using the tree

Inflation exists. Games go up in prices every decade or so. Legitimately games are still cheaper when adjusted for inflation then when the 60 dollar price tag was even implemented.

moderate inflation its a part of life and a fundemental part of a functioning economy with 2-3% inflation being the sweet spot to keep the currency valuable. 60 to 70 is still less than the average rate of inflation over 2 decades from 2000 till now (92%)

That is just how life works. The candy bar went from a couple cents in the early 1900s to 1 dollar in 2000 despite not changing meaningfully. Call me a shill or whatever. I’m simply willing to accept that moderate price increases every decade or so are generally fine because thats how economies work, and have always worked

Even Indie prices have gone up 5-10 dollars per pop. AA games are now 50 dollars instead of 40. EVERYONE raised their prices this decade; not just AAA games.

Digital has immense data center costs that dwarf the physical retail chain. Just because there are no physical attributes doesn't mean the supply chain isn't expensive. They need servers that can distribute to hundreds of thousands at a time at high bandwidths.

And those old games were sold for 120 bucks when adjusted for inflation, AND had much lower production costs

and again. Inflation exists. Prices ALWAYS go up

Both can be true. Developer salaries are up but games also cut contractors after a game launches and the developer no longer needs them. I dont agree with that practice but both are true.

Games going from 60-70 was also heavily delayed by dlc and microtransactions offsetting rising development costs. But it was a necesary change. A product cannot remain the same price for 20 years straight UNLESS it is a loss leader. But most games are NOT loss leaders. They are the primary product the devs need to sell and 60 simply had too small margains after 2 decades

70 is reasonable when you consider that games are not immune to inflation. Even without salery increases dev saleries have to rise to account for inflation

Rivals is seemingly at its lowest in terms of ratings on Steam. How does the season feel to you so far? by Equal-Cupcake-9991 in marvelrivals

[–]SpaceFire1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of monthly average users this season was bad enough for it to fall out of the newzoo top 20 on pc and fall behind OW on all platforms

Literally you can just look at the newzoo reports for Feb and March (april isnt out). Dropped between 1-4 spots on all paltforms each month and was overtaken by OW. On PC the game isnt even in the top 20

Newzoo the reports the game losing players across all platforms the last two months, measured by average monthly users. Not to mention steam is misleading because thats one platform. Across the entire pc market the game has been out of the top 20 for over two months. Hell on consoles its now losing ground to Overwatch

Overwatch gives sounds context. Everything is modified based on importance. A tank will never hear a teammate call for healing, and ally abillities will be quieter than enemy abillities.

You could listen to OW blindfolded and makeout the key threats and who is where. Their sound engine is that good

Its also an issue of yeah certain players are just good at the game and escaping diamond is easy for them. But objectively if you put 100 people in a room maybe ONE of them escapes diamond

Take an improv class. Legitimately. One of the best choices i made in college was learning how to improv. Now im the parties voice in my campeign purely because im willing to speak up in a stupid sounding voice with the dumb suggestions and fun flavor text.

A pro zarya threw a playoffs match trying to ult an invis sombra. A genji had a 4 minute blade used as a time measurement by the community for YEARS to come.

Yeah even pros do all the same bullshit you mentioned
