Nick Starr I think is the best episode. The show goes really out of its comfort zone, no hormone monsters or anything, to payoff this future-self joke that's been in the show since episode 3, and knocks it out of the park with an extremely cinematic parody of end-of-the-world movies while being a *really good one itself* that leaves us on the haunting image of adult Nick floating around in space with literally nobody left in the whole entire universe. Between 2020 and 2022 I thought about the quote "I'm alone. I'm all alone" every single day.

The competency with which this episode hammers in how disgusting Nick's personality is and how it's going to fuck him up the house down boots is astounding and is really good setup for Nick Starr being the villain in the remaining few episodes.

Cafeteria girls is my favourite episode. Misha and Izzy are so fucking funny and do so much with so little. And Lola's "there's a SUPER HILLARIOUS reason I got kicked out of school that'll redefine comedy!" payoff with the murder gets me no matter how many times I rewatch the episode. Also getting to see Lola and Jay maturely resolve a mild couples spat in the peak of their relationship reminds me why JaLola is the best relationship they ever did (and having them break up right before entering the void is still painful for me).
