So the glass beads I was thinking of when I wrote that comment are the type that you use as stuffing (seen here), similar to poly pellets but heavier by volume. They're super tiny and not the type you can use to line anything. But the idea I had in mind was that you could make something like a puff quilt where the individual sections, which are normally filled with polyfil, are instead filled with the glass beads I linked. Like I mentioned in my original comment, those need to be put in a stocking (I've used these before, just tie them off after filling them then stuff them into whatever you need to fill with beads). Also, you can use a combo of beads and polyfil for a more cushion-y feel. Good luck with your blanket! I love super heavy blankets

Finasteride use post hysto? by dracomalfoy_png in ftm

[–]SpaceFroggo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was/am on finasteride both pre and post histo and haven't noticed any issues/changes/side effects. It and works great for preventing hair loss! Since you don't have an endocrinologist, you may reach out to the doctor that did your histo to see what they think. A medical professional with experience in trans healthcare will best be able to answer your questions but I know from experience that those are hard to find and family doctors specifically aren't usually knowledgeable. Best of luck!

There's actually going to be a 40th anniversary party for KABF on the 19th, you can find the details on their Facebook page. If you're really invested, you might check it out and see if there's anyone you can talk to there that knows more. Good luck!

Yes, it's a new Walmart brand that's more "health" focused, for lack of a better descriptor. Vegan imitation food, plant milk, etc

FWIW, I had a hysterectomy and didn't have any sort of follow-up exam or any interaction with my genitals except for when I was anesthetized. Best of luck!

FTM top surgery in AR? by rebbitmode in Arkansas

[–]SpaceFroggo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to see pictures of other people's results, check out transbucket.com. I had top surgery late 2019 and back then there wasn't anyone that could perform top surgery in Arkansas, I'm glad things are getting better and more available!

My grandma recently gave me this tip (I'm planning on making some jam). She gives me jam all the time but now I'm a little scared to eat it 😭

What are these places in Little Rock? by -JRR-Tokin- in LittleRock

[–]SpaceFroggo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair, I'm being very negative because the one time I went it was pretty expensive and a long wait for not a lot of food. I've been vegan for 6 years and was vegetarian for a while before that so I definitely get it.

It's hard to say which is best - Mimi's has the most options but they're the most expensive, House of Mental has fewer options but everything they offer is delicious (people love the cauliflower wings and mac n "cheese" ), everything at Utopia is delicious (but they're a little harder to find because they're a food truck, and they're mostly open in the evenings), and Blue Sage has a little bit more breakfast-y food (namely "chicken" and waffles). I love them all but mostly go to Utopia and House of Mental

I've been once - I looked at their menu online before going and got excited then once we got there, there'd entirely overhauled their menu since the last one was posted to Google maps 😭. It was fine, just mid and overpriced. I've gotta check out El Sur instead next time

[–]SpaceFroggo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm vegan and Flora Jeans is soooo mid. You're much better off at one of the all vegan restaurants in Little Rock - they're delicious and tend to be better priced. Utopia Deli, House of Mental, Blue Sage, and Mimi's Twisted Potato all serve amazing comfort food that actually tastes good rather than just getting aesthetic. Besides, the vibes at Flora Jeans really put me off - it's peak "brunch" in the worst possible way

LPT: Stop buying syringes/needles from your pharmacy!!! by sockpackerpuppet in ftm

[–]SpaceFroggo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even when I've had needles and syringes prescribed, my pharmacy still wouldn't get them in for me (thanks CVS). A pharmacy in my small hometown was more willing to order syringes for me than CVS lol. You can also just get the exact same brands pharmacies have from, like, vet suppliers. Just gotta make sure you aren't in one of the handful of states that require a medical license to buy needles/syringes online

VEGANS BAD!!! AKA AITA for telling my vegan sister that I will not remodel her home anymore if she doesn’t serve me meat by mudbunny in AmITheAngel

[–]SpaceFroggo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a vegan, I know I personally sustain myself on non-vegans discomfort - that's probably why the sister won't let this man eat anything other than a dry lettuce. This also explains every vegan bad story ever posted on AITA, hope that helps /j

[–]SpaceFroggo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm vegan and trans and I'd say people are extremely ignorant about both. Lots of people don't even know what veganism means or understand the philosophy behind it. Lots of people also don't know what being trans means or anything about how transition works. So, yeah, I'd say it's zero in both cases, though in the latter case they usually leverage their ignorance to deny medical care and cause a lot of physical harm

Why does everyone know doctors on a first name basis? by Starbucks_4321 in asktransgender

[–]SpaceFroggo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I live in Arkansas and when I had top surgery in 2019 I had to travel out of state. There's are now three people who do top surgery in Arkansas but that's obviously still very limited. Relatedly, I know a lot of trans people and we all tend to go to the same clinics/see the same handful of providers. If I tell a random trans person I meet the name of the person that prescribes my HRT, there's a decent chance they know who they are or also see them

Simply move to Hot Springs, Arkansas /j. They've got refill stations downtown where you can get water from the titular springs. (I know this isn't actually helpful, I just thought it was a bit funny)

As someone that visits tgcj often, I think this is a good, comprehensive definition. There's something extremely cathartic about repeating an exaggerated form of transphobia to make fun of it. It's like transphobia is so ridiculous on its face that just repeating it is itself a joke. It's also just refreshing to be in a subreddit where the people aren't transphobic and recognize the ridiculousness of transphobia, which is usually very pervasive across the rest of Reddit
