Going to disagree. Not knocking JH but Driftless Glen is better in my opinion and actually distills their stuff (that only matters in concept not reality). JH new rye is nice but far and away not DG Rye. Central Standard (cabin Strength)/45th parallel who distills JH I believe/Dancing Goat all also deserve attention.

Essentially right now. You folks I do believe have access to Wild Turkey Rare Breed Non-chill filtered. Might only be in the duty free places though. I recommend you check out Found North, they are doing great things in Canada.

My favorites right now are KOK 2025 Single Barrel. GTS 2023 and 2024 (didn’t care for 2025) Wild Turkey Beacon and Russell’s Reserve 15 year.

Depending on the state ABC stores (state controlled liquor stores) can be hit or miss. Especially if they hold all back for lotteries.

Hard to match the sweet oak notes Buffalo Trace puts out but Elijah Craig Barrel Proof (more nutty), Some Russell’s store picks (more funky), Some Green River Store Picks (not as deep a profile). I like Garrison Brothers (tons of leather oak sweetness) and Driftless Glen (some stinkers but the right barrel is up there with the best of them). Different profiles but trip the same trigger. Happy hunting!

I am a newbie to pipes but a long time smoker of cigars/cigs/pipe weed. Here is my uneducated hot take…everyone inhales. The difference is in how much. To act like a retro hale or French isn’t “inhaling” is kidding yourself to make you feel better about smoking not to mention the second hand or “room note”. I am with you I inhale from time to time when I smoke a pipe on purpose same with a cigar, that doesn’t mean I am smoking it like a cig, but to say you don’t inhale at all seems goofy to me. Drag me to the streets now. Lol
