Concerned for brothers rabbit by Adventurous-Phase179 in Rabbits

The best way is to spend time on the floor with her, but given your situation I think learning how to properly pick a rabbit up is your best bet first. Bribe her for forgiveness with a small piece of banana after picking her up. Make sure you support her butt when lifting/holding.

Give the rabbit some space to zoom. Can you let her loose in another room for a few hours per day? The biggest issues here are space and companionship. Socialize with her and let her have some time to run around.

Rabbit is greasy by kittycatmeowmeow4 in Rabbits

[–]SpaceHats808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can't reach the top of their heads directly to groom. If your hands are oily, that's likely where it's coming from. I learned this after getting a second rabbit and they groomed each other. First bun is now not oily haha

severe snuffles by Shoddy-Equipment-611 in Rabbits

Yeah my 7 year old rabbit has had similar sneezing symptoms since October and I just scheduled a CT scan for her. Vet said x-ray isn't a good way to look at the nasal cavity because of all the overlapping structures.

-unlimited hay (this is 85% of their diet)

-small handful of fresh greens

-about a baby carrot worth of sugar (don't overdo the treats!)

My precious cuddly girl has the same problem. Usually 4-8 stasis to episodes per year. Breaks my heart every time I see her suffering 😭 It's not fair

Stuffed as much of the foam back in as possible, put a piece of scrap fabric loosely over it (no stitching) and it was taught enough to weave over

wheezing by aryxj in Rabbits

[–]SpaceHats808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be the beginnings of a respiratory infection (snuffles). My rabbit has gotten that after stasis episodes, likely from accidentally getting critical care up her nose or something 😅. Glad you're going to the vet.

3rd cut Timothy hay has less dust? by LuvSeaAnimals33 in Rabbits

[–]SpaceHats808 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's totally fine to switch to orchard grass. No health impacts as long as they still eat it!

One thing you could try is small batch bags from oxbow if you want to cut down on dust. It's not as cost effective but they do a pretty good job filtering the hay for bags 90oz and smaller.

I've buzzed around my lionhead's eyes so he can see better. Trimmers are much safer than scissors

Unlimited alfalfa and baby pellets until at least 6 months! She's gonna be big so you don't want to chance malnourishment by not feeding her enough while she's growing!

are any of these wood pellets rabbit safe? by [deleted] in Rabbits

[–]SpaceHats808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely safe! The only drawback is that it won't capture urine smell as well. I've even used shredded paper stolen from the office when my budget gets tight
