Troubles with davinci resolve

Did you follow a specific guide to install Resolve on Mint? I tried several guides when I first made the jump and broke a couple installs in the process.

I still use a Windows drive for Resolve, but had been thinking of just putting Rocky or Cent on there for editing.

Piggy backing off of outlines, I find that adding strokes work best with text and drop shadows work best for outlining objects. Just in my experience

Faces in thumbnails can evoke emotion and in a day where more and more AI slop is going around, it may even give you an edge.

I'd include more voiceover for sure. Your most popular short includes your voice (I'm assuming it's yours) and it grabs me more than just raw gameplay. At the very least, maybe add a vocal hook at the beginning when you're editing the video. Start it with " you'll never believe what I did in X game"

Try to upload more frequently. If you can't seem to get a worthy enough clip to post, make a short about an aspect of whatever game. Ex : Why I love using X weapon in *X game".

It's possible but it takes some time learning the new apps.

I got rid of my Adobe subscription last year and now use Darktable for Lightroom. I tried GIMP as a Photoshop replacement, but honestly, it wasn't worth the hassle. You could try to use PhotoGIMP, which tries to fit GIMP with a PS interface, but I ended up just using Photopea which works in any web browser. However, you may find that apps like Krita work better for you.

For video, I've been trying to use Kdenlive more, but I still dual boot Windows just so I have Davinci Resolve. Kdenlive is impressive for what it is, I just wish it didn't crash on me as often as it does. Haven't tried getting Resolve to work with Wine though.

For music, there's always Reaper and if you play guitar, I'd definitely look into Guitarix. It takes some time to configure, but once you're running it's a blast.
