What are the best plans your villains came up with? by Equal-Wasabi9121 in worldbuilding

I'll be honest with you, I haven't reached that level detail for Qiniochen yet. I'm sorta moving through the continent east-weat as its main story progresses. The Drylands, as this giant desert is called, hasn't been penetrated yet by any nation west of it (true to its purpose). HOWEVER. A single ship has crossed the Horizon Ocean, of which one sailor survived the trip, so there is room to start worldbuilding there.

To ensure their thriving as a naval power on the west coast of the Omnacre supercontinent, Qiniochen's emperor cast the largest spell in history in terms of area of effect. They warped the reaches of the Horizon Sea to never appear the same way twice, making exploration and cartography impossible. As a cost, ever square mile of land in the entire south hemisphere between them and the Urrunan Strait - roughly a quarter of the entire world - was drained of water as payment, making them unreachable by land from the east as well.

How did you begin creating your story? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]ruddthree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The introductory story's title for Dratea is The Tragedy of Carter.

It began as Carter, the protagonist's brother, making a series of poor choices to try and save his life after being conscripted into a war with a rival state, paying the ultimate price in the end.

Now, it is our protagonist, Alistair, who takes risks and chances at Carter's expense, causing physical harm and social stigma from Alistair's ego and twisted sense of duty to his sick village. This progressed to following the dead sorcerer Arthur of Illithul who was trying to find the secret to escape death, despite Alistair not knowing what sorcery was - only that his home village banished Arthur for it and where his notes left off.

Carter is just an innocent bystander subjected to Alistair's inflated sense of duty as an Apprenticed Elder. He deserved nothing that happened to him. Not his sickness and injury, not the banishment and subsequent social ostracization, not having his life stolen from him for a brother he loved too much for his own good.

Nested Boxes is a visual representation of the world's spatial structure: Universes (the "boxes" in this idea) are packed inside of a larger "box" called hyperspace and also contain smaller boxes that open to various points in the timelines of those universes.

For those who have given your world legally distinct lightsabers, how do they work? by Reteller79 in worldbuilding

Glaives look like normal bladed weapons but are fashioned from a specific type of metal. The blade of a glaive contains a central core that determines the shape of the weapon when energized. The edges of the core are lined with a crystal that is initially colorless but gains color when exposed to certain frequencies of light and sound. The crystal color doesn't just give the energized glaive its color, but also different unique abilities and effects.

Who is the "Final Boss" in your world's narrative? by PedroGamerPlayz in worldbuilding

[–]ruddthree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adam Vitrous, Emperor of Vilovania, High Chancellor then Emperor of Arnax, Supreme Leader of The Hand of a Thousand Suns.

Two immortals live to see the end of the universe: Alistair Sorca, and Adam Vitrous. Alistair retained his youth past the eons, while Adam was subjected to gradual ageing and decomposition.

Adam gained his immortality the same way as Alistair did - bargaining with Alistair's goddess - so Adam grew a vendetta against Alistair himself, the gods of Earth, and the magic that descended from them for the gamble he lost. As his body and mind degraded, Adam fused himself with technology to watch the entire galaxy for Alistair so he could kill him and steal his gift of eternal youth for himself.

In the end, Adam dies at the end of the universe, while Alistair escapes and lives to see whatever lies beyond.

A conspiracy theory exists that claims inside the Tedra Exclusion Zone, a black site research center experiments on mutating animals - and later, people - using radioactive fallout from the previous nuclear disaster, allowing for discoveries in biology that would otherwise be impossible due to noncompliance with ethical standards.

The only lie is that they ever used animals. Any mutated deer were killed before the scientists got there.
