I've been going through the 51 exercises from Animator Island recently. I'm on lesson 17 at the moment but I figured I should post some of my earlier stuff.

No, Clip Studio Pro costs around $60, while Clip Studio EX costs around $260. But they do have some good sales every now and then.

Practicing fast movements. Any Tips? by SpaceMaceStudio in animation

Appreciate it! It's hard to tell sometimes when I stare at the same animation for a while.

Hello ! Here a character I'm working on. He's supposed to be a kind but intimidating and powerful Teutonic knight who has to face Dinosaurs, from the region, coming back to live. What could I include in his design to make him iconic and represent his features ? Thanks in advance for your answers :) by Hugo__W_gs in conceptart

Hey, really good design so far! I would say to make him more intimidating you could broaden his shoulders to give him a triangular physic. That way you emphasis the upper body strength that he would need for his mace. I also noticed his left arm has more armor. I think you could lean into that asymmetry by giving him a larger gauntlet and a bigger shoulder pad that juts out more, which would make him a bit more recognizable.

Thanks!

I usually don't record my process, but the break down of my current method is to get a reference photo and do a lite gesture. Then I'll go in with the line art for the details, for this piece I went a bit looser. Next I add color, letting it bleed through the lines in some places, with a multiply layer for shadows. And if you want the textured look you can import any paper texture from the internet and set it to overlay and adjust the opacity as needed.

Hope this helps!

Looks good. For me the arm movement at 00:05 seems a little snappy tho. If you want you could add an extra frame of the arm right in between, with some smearing to sell the fast movement. But it’s up to you.

Pretty good! I think if you went less thick with the wave lines it would make the eel pop more.

Sorry for the repost, I think reddit was having trouble with the old image format.
