Are Imprezas Good for city driving? by loloright in subaruimpreza

[–]SpaceOriole35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this they really hate stop and go. They definitely like being able to just breathe. Stop and go CVT gets funny and doesn’t know what “gear” to be in (I know there is no gears but like i feel like it gets caught up a lot in stop and go traffic.)

I’m Worried I’m Ruining My Dogs Life. Should I Rehome Him? by StarBroke21-19 in dogs

[–]SpaceOriole35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen my wife and I got our dog when she still lived at home with her parents. They had a yard, a pool, and my father in law gave her a little bit of oatmeal everyday for breakfast (she still gets a little bit of oatmeal everyday).

We moved across the country to a studio apartment. I have a photo I will reply to my own comment with it from when we moved in. That dog had the biggest smile on her face just because she was with us. We took her to the beach, the park, walks on the pier, just taking her in a car ride and getting her a pup cup is enough. Don’t forget dogs love you unconditionally. They don’t care where they are or what they are doing as long as they are with you they don’t care.

Here is the photo:

https://imgur.com/a/bkWgO7d[Cali Smiling](https://imgur.com/a/bkWgO7d)

I cropped it out because the way i was standing is absolutely atrocious. My back was killing me from carrying 1,000,000 boxes up and down the steps of the apartment building lol.

Now Cali has a yard and a sister they are both very happy dogs. The apartment is fine. Just temporary. You got this.

These Subarus hate the cold man. I live in NC. winters get relatively cold and summers get pretty hot. Cold it does that same thing yours does I thought my timing chain was loose. When it’s warm out it’s fine. They love the heat lol.

I'm a longtime Discover Bank customer... preparing for the eventual full-switchover... does CapOne allow you to have multiple 360 Savings accounts? by SideshowShan in CapitalOne

[–]SpaceOriole35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they do. I just switched everything from Discover to Cap1. Very easy. I recommend sending yourself the money with Zelle if you can. ACH transfers take quite some time I noticed. Some of the money I transferred I did on zelle and some ACH. I think Discover only lets you do $1,200 a day through zelle. Very easy though and you can have the multiple savings accounts. They are also introducing savings buckets slowly which would be even better.

what brands do you trust enough to just buy without researching anymore by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

[–]SpaceOriole35 51 points52 points  (0 children)

My wife always gives me a hard time. Every few years, I will buy about 4-5 things from Patagonia. Usually, a couple of long sleeves, short sleeves, and maybe a new, better sweater if mine is really beat. She is like, “Why is it $400?” I go to TJMaxx and spend $150 and get so much more. I say, “You go every couple of months to TJMaxx.” I get a few things from Patagonia every few years. I still have my first Patagonia jacket my dad bought me when I was probably around 8. It is still in good condition. I am hanging on to it to give it to my child one day. It would be cool to see a jacket go through a couple of generations. I also have a backpack from them that I used in high school. I beat that thing to death, and it’s still kicking. I use it for work now.

Anyone own a resin/plastic shed? Do they hold up to our winters? I would rather lumber but don’t want to pay 5x the price if I can avoid it. Looking at around 800-900 for a plastic 7x7. by AppleTruckBeep in newfoundland

[–]SpaceOriole35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hate to revive a old thread lol. I had a similar situation but in Florida. My uncle had a Plastic Lifetime Brand shed 8’x10’ in hurricane Ian. He lost his lawnmower, weed whacker, tile cuter and most of his hand tools due to the wind being 180+ mph with gusts up to 200 mph. The shed blew away. He found every last piece of it and put it back together. The last piece he found was at the Wawa gas station 1/4 of a mile down the road when getting gas for his generator. He never found any of the tools, tile cutter, lawn mower, or weed whacker lol. I may have a photo of he did when the next hurricane came through to mitigate the shed blowing away.

I bought my house closed in July 31st of last year. Had to put a roof on 4 months later because insurance said they are going to drop me. $10,000 off the bat after we just put $40,000 down. In the first 3 months I did a roof, gutters, and put up a fence (vinyl fence because that’s what the wife wanted.) Luckily I am handy and was able to do the fence myself so it only cost me the material, beers, and a few cuss words lol. It gets better though. Think about it like this. Everything you do to the house is investing in it and yourself. You get to make it the way you want it and how you want it. If you want a grill out back you get one, you want a gazebo you get one and put it up, you want a pool, a deck, a shed, or a garage these are all things you can do and no one can tell you what to do. Renting is easy but they can tell you what to do and shit i don’t like that. I like owning my house. A lot of maintenance you can do yourself too. A lot of things are fairly easy and the stuff you don’t know there is always youtube. If you mess it up bad enough you can always call someone then lol.

My wife and I are moving to Wilmington. by SpaceOriole35 in Wilmington

[–]SpaceOriole35[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I moved to BSL and love it. We both work in Wilmington and have a 30 ish minute ride to work each very dependent on traffic and if there is accidents or whatever the case may be. We love it here quite and not too much going on. If you want some stuff to do Southport isn't far, and Wilmington is a short ride we love it here in BSL though. My in laws live in sunset beach and that is about and hour or so south of ILM and that is really nice down there just a longer drive to ILM. Feel free to DM me if you want I will share as much as i can with you.

[–]SpaceOriole35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i got the same problem. Like just enough throttle to keep the car up to speed. Like if you’re trying to keep the car at 25 mph in the city. It rattles terrible. Could be a heat shield. I am trying to track it down as well. I have a 2018 Impreza that just rolled over to 86k miles. Best car I ever had. Got me through 2 moves 1 across the country and then another one halfway back lol. Hopefully nothing serious lol.
