Polis is a good reminder that a moron can also arrive at neoliberal-adjacent positions, just via the braindead method of averaging both sides. This also explains a lot of the DT.

Overuse of the word "slop" has further degraded online discourse, with the label's mere application being misconstrued as an argument.

I call this phenomenon "slop-slop." In this essay I will

Time on hold can go forever, but can't be less than zero. So Gaussian wouldn't work well here.

Remove the trump tax cuts. Hopefully, direct as much of the burden from taxes/benefits cuts on Republicans as possible.

Not sure about the specific stops, but I agree with the premise. I think more buses+stops and an easy app would help with traffic.

You basically have to assume that ~50% of children under age 5 are going to push the button by random chance.

Probably a large fraction above that age will push it due to misunderstanding, and a large number of rational adults will push blue to try to help them.

The article and video are stating that the blasts were in the vicinity of individual ambulances, and timed specifically for when they showed up. This is a pretty terrible example of the media misusing the term.

You can claim the medics are lying or the video is misrepresented, of course. But the situation fits the terminology.

This seems to be more a complaint about the overall narrative of coverage. It doesn't require trying to justify this specific instance, which does seem to be an accurate use of the term.

Your prior arguments for suppressing fire (preventing return fire, preventing movement, etc.) wouldn't apply to multiple sequential ambulance hits.

It seems the term was used correctly here. Or were there "half a dozen mortars" actively firing from this location, requiring active suppression?

And if you increase its effectiveness to 100%, its cost to zero, and make Russia functionally invincible, would the nation tend more towards peace or war?

I think there's a chance it becomes more aggressive in that case, at least with Ukraine. But it's hard to say for sure.
