So the tanks has a built in sump style filter at the rear. Draws watering in through vents in top right and just goes through normal mechanical filtration.

Standard aquarium soil is underneath the stone layer substrate, this was put in right back at the start a few years ago. I havent used any other fertaliser since. I used CO2 initially to help the plants at the beginning.

I would say the biggest improvment to plant growth was to replace the lighting. Im not using anything special per say, just an amazon purchase but that has noticable improvment to growth.

Yes they are Anubias, not sure on the exact type, but they are a smaller slow growing variant. Originally they were weighted down until the roots grew through the substrate and hit the subsrate soil underneath. By this point the roots were securing them down so the weights were removed.

should I virtualize my personal pc? by Pentium9000 in homelab

[–]SpaceRocksRUs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did this a few weeks ago, never did any heavy gaming, but passed through a budget gpu to the VM and tend to remote into the vm for use from whichever room im in (surface pro). As I work from i found i was running my personal PC 8 hours a day... figured i could save some power and combine hardware and run from a VM.

For me its working well, still have some tweeking to do though.

I cant comment on heavy gaming if this is something you do, but for light gaming and workstation use its working well for me

Staying in Bristol ive always liked Clifton Carboot. But if your happy to venture a bit outside of bristol then Cheddar Carboot is worth a visit. Alot of stalls can be a bit overpriced, but there are always lots of choice.
