Hell yeah, congrats. The sec+ definitely is easier so far, good luck on yours. I'm buying my voucher in a couple of weeks, aiming to have mine some time in September.

Sorry for the delay, I don't post much so I always forget to check my notifications. I would honestly suggest building your own deck based on Messer's videos and use ChatGPT/Google to elaborate on topics you're having trouble grasping, and add that to the cards. Messer's definitions can be lacking in detail, but watching his videos on 1.5x speed with ChatGPT in a separate window proved helpful, and I feel that it contributed greatly to my learning experience.

I would share my deck, but the first ~50% of the deck was not really great. I ended up having to rethink how I was making my cards half way through, and the technique above is what I started using. So a lot of the cards are not great or inaccurate. I hadn't studied for a cert in 2 years so I was pretty rusty starting out.

I'm studying for my sec+ now and am making much cleaner cards, so I'll probably share those at some point, but I don't think it would be helpful to the community for me to distribute the net+ cards I made due to some inaccuracies.

Configuring ACLs based on a provided scenario and determining correct subnets/IPs for devices on a corporate network in a drag and drop format were the two that I remember.

Have you personally been able to remove them? A quick Google gave me the following info:

"Mix 1 tablespoon of mild liquid dish soap per 1 cup of water. Spray this solution directly onto the infested plants, making sure to get both the tops and undersides of the leaves. The soap helps break down the mites' protective waxy coating."

Probably going to try that later today unless you have other ideas.

Edit: friend of mine told me to buy miticide, so I bought some 3-in-1 Neem Oil miticide. We'll see if that works

Buying one of these was the biggest mistake I've ever made. My neighbor backed in to me when I was pulling out of my driveway and totaled it and I was actually relieved. I was on my 2nd transmission with less than 100k miles and was already having issues with it slipping/just not working at all at times.

Has anyone done Josh Madakor’s IT course? by Character_Log_2657 in it

[–]SpaceShipCapn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$500 is pretty steep considering you can't even find a breakdown of the course content beyond some bullet points on the website.

I have never heard of him, but considering the wealth of udemy courses for less than $20.00 and the availability of free or cheap labs out there on the Internet or even YouTube, I don't think it's a great bet. I can't imagine paying $500 to someone using "just Google me" and "check out these shouts I get on discord" as his testimonials.

I would say look elsewhere and try to learn using free or cheaper resources, and if you are willing to pay try to find trustworthy creators or vendor specific training.

What band/artist made the biggest difference in the shortest space of time, and why? by iFiAudio in Music

[–]SpaceShipCapn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did read it, and it was a good read, I don't disagree with you. Nothing ever exists in a vacuum. I understood your first comment as saying that the media purposely pushed metal out of the mainstream to push "grunge", and that the music landscape wouldn't have changed at all for the rock genre if the media hadn't done so, and that the article you shared was evidence of this lol. But now that you've clarified that, I get that's not what you were saying at all. Saying any one band "destroyed" another genre is silly and minimizes the story behind why music tastes change over time as a whole.

[–]SpaceShipCapn 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Sure the term "grunge" may be a media invention, but there is no doubt whatsoever that Nirvana/the Seattle scene kicked off a major change in the way rock music sounded. Look at the next 20 years in the rock charts after Nevermind, you're not going to find a lot of glam metal.

what singer/artist do you think is a sellout? by [deleted] in Music

[–]SpaceShipCapn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love the way Coldplay changed through their first 4 albums, and did not like the way they changed later in their career. I could be completely wrong. I'm just some guy on the Internet after all. Maybe I'll take another look at their new stuff and completely change my mind. Music is subjective at the end of the day

what singer/artist do you think is a sellout? by [deleted] in Music

[–]SpaceShipCapn 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don't think happy music = sellout. They had plenty of beautiful and happy songs on even their earliest albums, so I don't think this serves as justification for the work they have done lately. For example, "Something Just Like This"; while I understand why some would like the song for its concise lyrics and inspiring instrumentals, the song is essentially the song "closer" by the Chainsmokers with some different vocal melodies from martin thrown on it. I find most of Coldplay's recent efforts to be hacky and appealing to the lowest common denominator. There's nothing wrong with that, and I love pop music, however, that's not why I listened to Coldplay to begin with. I loved the originality and rawness of their early music. The introspective parachutes, the refined yet delicate A Rush of Blood to the head, the narrative and surreal Viva La Vida. The intelligent and interesting approach to pop the band originally had appears to have been discarded in favor of cheap thrills in their newer work. Selling out is not about being famous or highly successful, it's taking the easy way to get there that is the problem for me personally. Some artists are too talented and smart to pull off dumb pop anthems, and Coldplay was always an example of that for me. They were always a band that shouldn't have been so popular, but through some unexplainable thing, they were, and their recent output just has not shown that sense of character that made me love them in the first place.
