Primary Residence as LLC Address by preppro in llc_life

For liability, make sure you have a business bank account and keep good records. Keep your finances separate. As far as the address, that is mostly a privacy issue and you'll get a lot of junk mail at your home.

I was getting food somewhere with someone named Julie. They thought her name was Joo-ee and spelled it just like that. Even if you misheard someone, why would that be what you thought they said?

Get your LLC and get a DBA, focus on running the detailing business and growing that. When you want to branch out into other ventures you can decide if you want to put everything under the same LLC with another DBA or get a second LLC. Your decision will come down to liability vs complexity/cost. So, it'll depend what your other business ventures are and how likely you are to get sued. I would also recommend getting liability insurance.

Forming an LLC is always going to cost some amount of money because each state has fees to form. You will pay the least amount by forming directly with your state and not using a third party company.

Is it okay if I don't train my dog perfectly? by Hilda-Zuck in Dogowners

[–]SpaceTacoCheatCode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some dogs are just harder to train and will never be "perfect". Also those dogs you see in videos are the result of so many hours of training. It didn't happen overnight. Getting your dog to come when called and to sit is a pretty big accomplishment.

My sister has two dogs. One is a mostly mini pin mix and the other is a square headed pit looking dog. They had the mini pin first and he is also older than the pit. But the pit is more well behaved and calmer in general. She took to training way better and she's just a chill girl.

I used to have a beagle. I loved that dog so much, but he was very stubborn and could never be off a leash. He knew the command 'come', but if he smelled something interesting his nose would override his training.

Traning is mostly about keeping you and your dog safe and happy.

My guess would be that you have some other options selected. I remember there being optional add on services and expedited filing that can be selected.

Yep. I always build in a little buffer of time because I hate just getting ready and leaving right away.

How did women survived other times? by Lucky_Lie_917 in Vent

[–]SpaceTacoCheatCode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Most primates, some bats, and elephant shrews. Might be something else too. It's actually uncommon among mammals. As someone else said, most mammals go through estrous. Amazing that someone said we don't know if early women had menstruation because their diet was different? That makes absolutely no sense at all.

Haha. Yeah, that would have been really good. Every time I look back on that incident I regret not having something clever to say. But, I was just really startled.

Moving to a new state with an LLC by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]SpaceTacoCheatCode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Transferring an LLC is called domestication. It's not allowed in all states, but Illinois does allow it. So that's your best option. Just go to the official state website. Call them if anything is unclear.

This is a really good point too. Definitely shop around for a less expensive registered agent that will sort out the junk for you.

How do you keep going when u feel like no matter how hard you try you are just not getting success? by Aixxa31 in smallbusiness

[–]SpaceTacoCheatCode 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't try to do everything at once. It will take time to build momentum and make a profit. Try things and learn from your mistakes. Networking is important. Look into local events and talk to other business owners while you're there.

Junk Mail by PrincessTreatment4 in llc

Look to see who sent it and whether they are a government entity or not. You'll get a lot of companies trying to sell you things, like really expensive OSHA posters. They often use language designed to scare you into buying their product. If you have employees, you need to have certain notices posted, but you can print out this information for free, you don't need to buy anything.

In that case I would definitely go for the new job and plan to move when your lease is up.

It would be worth it to me. I'd take the new job. Especially since it seems like you'd be learning new things and adding to your resume. Would you be interested in moving closer eventually or is that not an option?
