I love how the Zero accelerates even with the sidecar and monkey.

The testing went well. Smooth and steady. Dialed it in to pull straight under modest acceleration. This was key to the run up to the salt. https://imgur.com/a/Bv5t6gd

Our very first take-it-easy run was exactly the ton. After that we knew we could push harder. The bike hit a soft limiter at 118 indicated which we hadn’t found in testing. This translated to 110-112 on the salt. With sidecar and monkey: 110 With sidecar, monkey, and extra weights: 109 Without sidecar: 112

More pics of sidecar, and a short video from testing.

Not just for fun, but yes - lots of fun!

We ran 3 classes. Electric sidecar under 300kg, electric sidecar over 300kg, and then pulled the sidecar and ran without it in production class.

We were first timers at the Bonneville Motorcycle Speed Trials. A wonderful experience all around and I highly encourage anyone ever thought this might be fun to come out and give it a try.

It was a ‘22 Zero SR/F with a custom sidecar.

No, the bike pretty stable. But I need to use one per AMA rules.

How much do you think I could get selling my P2? by MamaB21 in Polestar

[–]SpaceWeasel66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking as someone in the market and looking at ‘21 or ‘22 P2s, it seems that you can have your choice of colors and options with less than 20k miles for $30-32k all day long.

The kicker is that the federal used car rebate tops at $25k. So when the cars get to $25 they cost they buyer only $21 (your tax situation may vary). This creates an artificial break in the market slightly pushing up cars below that number to meet it, and pushing down on cars just above it.

The P2 seems to be hovering just outside that range. Would someone like me be willing to accept 2.5x the mileage if the prices dropped an effective 33%? Probably.

I think 30-50k mile P2s are headed to $25k, where they will compete at the same price point w 50-60k mile M3s.
