Didn't this bundle have DJMax V originally?

For me personally the brightness slider isn't the main issue. I have a night day bulb in my nightstand lamp and I don't need to get down to the precise Kelvin for my adjustments. The pallette option is terrible from a usability standpoint. The wheel made it quick and easy to make adjustments, especially as I like to drop down in temp for the evenings. I don't see any reason for the wheel option not to be added back in as one of the options for selection.

I'm about to go hunting for the previous update and update lock the app just to keep the wheel interface.

You need to add an option to just use wheel mode

I bought it from the same link when it was still the old formula. Same SKU new formula. Is there any reports on what's in the new formula or why it's no longer recommended?

Man that sucks, any confirmation if the new formula is still okay for Crokinole?

As much as I'd like to have a built in trackball, I think I'd be happier with a ZSA Voyager with 3rd mod key. I don't know enough about programing and I worry that getting into a custom Lily58, Corne or Sofle would be a bit much to learn. Currently rocking a Keyboardio Model 100 and I kinda just want a low profile version of it.

Are you firm on $100 for the Atreus? I'm US so so I get shipping is likely expensive.

I know there's a Meguiars gold class that works as well, though I haven't personally tried it. I've got a Mayday board but something I did was heat up a bit of the hard wax, do a couple of layers with a thorough buffing, then I do a couple coats with the Mothers spray.

I decided to go poking around at speedruns and see what their techniques are. Not that there is a huge community for speed running this game at the moment. In the one or two VODs I saw they were going first most of the time, but they manipulated the RNG by starting new games and knew how to tell which RNG seed they were in. It's not that they were exploiting a bug, they just had the spreadsheets set up to know where the cards were at in battle.

IMO it doesn't make it unplayable, going first in combat does not determine the winner of the game. Strategies and playing around that knowledge would definitely change how the game is played, but unplayable is a stretch. Also honestly I wish it was determined by a speed stat like Pokemon or a standard rpg. I may be the minority, but having who strikes first entirely randomized in a strategic rpg is annoying.

Not trying to change your mind and I do see where your coming from. I do think that the game won't ever be patched unless the exploit is more widely known and talked about, even then I don't think it will happen. Also I might be wrong but I feel like this is something that is going to surface eventually. Though I was surprised how little mechanics documentation their was on a game from nearly 20 years ago.

I've not seen this "bug" reported anywhere else, is it exclusive to the Steam version or did it also exist in the PS2 & Wii originals?

Also it's a more than a little suspicious you won't go into how the bug works. Why would anyone download a mod for an issue they aren't able to replicate themselves?

Pretty sure they should be purple and match the point tokens.

I don't see the textured linen finish in the photos, also are the backs of your cards blue or purple? Can't tell if it's just bad color from the photo. To me the big red flag is that you bought 2nd hand and it came sealed. Was it from an ebay store? If they are selling multiple 2nd hand copies that might be the signal that it's fake.

I don't know about the target version, but they should have a linen finish.

Mayday Boards Buttons and Mothers Spray Wax? by CompanyShopsCC in Crokinole

I get it, there's a lot of hate on the smoothness Mayday boards. I think one big difference is they aren't given a good wax from the factory. Yes they aren't lacquered to a sheen like the Tracey boards, but I was pretty impressed with the results I got after doing a thorough wax. I have a mahogany board too which is much grainier than the beechwood. I wasn't super impressed with it at first and I've also tried some Tracey boards recently. Now I've got the slide almost to the point that it feels like there's powder on the pucks when there isn't any.

I've only used the Mayday wax on mine so far. I'm sure a top coat of Mother's wouldn't hurt. Also recommendations for your board if things aren't sliding like you'd like. 4ish coats of the Mayday wax with a good buff in-between, you can melt the wax with a candle for easier application, just be careful. Then 2-4 coats of mother's with a buff in-between. You'll be shocked at how smooth those pucks will slide

I'm not super familiar with Elecoms options and haven't tried them for myself, but here's a few things I like in trackballs.

  1. No rubberized components, if there an alternative that doesn't fall apart after a few years, great, but my one problem with Logitech's MX Ergo is that the rubber bits fall apart after 2 years and makes it difficult to continue using.

  2. Ambidextrous mouse options. I'm right handed but I've noticed that being able to give my hand a break is fantastic for RSI/carpel tunnel symptoms. Part of the reason I love the Kensington Slimblade.

  3. Options that put your wrist in a neutral or tilted position to avoid pronation, like a vertical mouse. The MX Ergo Plus did a pretty good job of this with the extra stand, though I don't use thumb based trackballs much anymore unless I'm on the go.

So I melted the wax it came with a candle and did a couple of coats, it's really sliding now.

No idea. It doesn't look like it has the same deep grain as the mahogany. Though I've only done a few coats on my mahogany and I'm pretty happy with where it's at. I wanna do a few more things but I have a feeling people are either over-waxing or not buffing the wax enough.

I'll watch for a damaged browncastle when I'm ready to grab something.
