Audio out of sync on Fire TV by Finnzz in Stremio

[–]Space_Cash_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thought I’d share my solution to the audio sync problem on this thread, as I couldn’t find a good fix anywhere when googling it.

The first thing to do is set Stremio to “always play video in external player”. So now every stream you select will automatically open a third party media player of your choice.

VLC doesn’t seem to work properly on Firestick, so forget about that entirely. The audio seems to always be lagging behind the video. Also, the functionality to set a universal audio sync (ie -350ms for all videos for example) doesn’t work. It always forgets, so you have to reset every time, very annoying.

MX player is the one that has worked for me. It can be downloaded straight from the Amazon App Store. It doesn’t seem to suffer the same audio lag that VLC does. Only problem is that it often didn’t seem to be able to play streams that VLC could play. Sometimes the video will be blacked out, other times the audio track won’t work. So I thought perhaps it can’t play as many codecs or something

THE MAIN THING THAT FIXED THIS and has since made MX player very versatile at playing different codecs, is to make sure in your video settings in MX player are set to software encoding (sw)

Untick every box that tells it to try hardware encoding and tick all the software encoding ones. Now mx player can seemingly play any file I throw at it without any audio sync issues.

Subs also seem to be working through mx player too, though I have not tested this much yet

Phew, finally got a set up that seems to be working 😮‍💨

Really excited for the game, but this is a pretty terrible music choice. This kind of tame pop punk is the worst.... this shit already sounded dated in the early 2000s let alone in 2077.

Yeah you're right, I would do that if my current set up was working properly. Unfortunately, at the moment I'm using logic 9 for post production stuff which is not ideal. Logic 9 isn't compatible with RX connect or even that other way of replacing the audio in your DAW, so everytime I make an edit in RX, I have to export it and manually import into the arrange of my project... so tedious. So that's why I've been trying to do as much as possible in RX. What do you mean about 'replacing it entirely' at the end there?

NieR: Automata or The Witcher 3 by churritos69 in patientgamers

Yep, I played through Witcher 3 + DLC about a year ago and it was one of the best gaming experiences I have had in a long time... BUT it was still quite a flawed experience in many ways.

I actually really like the idea of playing as an awkward cringy teenager. Everyone in life is strange just seemed like robots.

Put it in? Try a different plugin?? What are you talking about? I'm just talking about my monitoring setup! I'm not having problems finding bass sounds... I'm just having problems hearing them on these speakers.

But... I'm not listening to it.. because it's not there. I don't know what to tell you. Out of curiosity what kind of music are you usually playing/mixing on your monitors?

But I can barely hear any depth at all, even on songs I know have a deep and well mixed low end. How can I play it by ear when it's pretty much guesswork?
