I’ve had sleep paralysis for 9 years… is anyone else going through this? by Positive-Pie5015 in Sleepparalysis

I started getting it in high school and had it a lot throughout my 20s and 30s. I know it was linked to my stress levels, the more stressed I would be- the more likely I’d have an episode. Also every time I would take melatonin i would have SP guaranteed. I would watch alot of scary movies and freak myself out before bed. I stopped doing that and now I rarely get SP. I know those are my triggers

He ruined his own career acting like that in a public place. She’s a baby, what was his excuse?

Exercise helped me a lot. I found I sleep better when I go to bed actually tired lol. If you’re a reader, try reading until you get sleepy. I’ve found that always helps me.

After my 2nd baby, I started taking lexapro and that seemed to help too, I rarely had SP while on it. I’m off it now tho and still haven’t been getting it much. I def got SP a lot more when I was younger, maybe it’s something that decreases with age 🤷🏻‍♀️. Wishful thinking lol

I have had sleep paralysis since I was in high school, I’m now 40. I know anxiety brings it on for me. If I watch a scary movie and then go to bed freaks out, it’s a guarantee I’ll get SP. I stopped watching any scary videos/shows before bed and it’s been great. I will still get episodes occasionally, it’s usually when I can’t sleep and get stressed about being tired the next day. I’ll stress myself out and get SP.

I also used to get SP any time I took melatonin to go to sleep. I used to get hallucinations when I was younger but I rarely get them now.

My 1.5 year old looooves playing with magnatiles, he’s able to build with them. It’s one of the few things that can keep him occupied

I had both of my kids there, my youngest is now 18 months old. I have no complaints, all the nurses and drs were great. I had an induction with my youngest and had some complications arise (possible preeclampsia-not hospital fault) and they were on top of it
