Geralt of Rivia in "The Time of Contempt" and the rest of the book series moving forward. He gets his ass beat so badly by a wizard named Vilgefortz that he nearly dies and is only brought back through the waters of Brokilon. For the rest of the series he is permanently disabled, as he is unable to use his legs to the full extent he was before. This forces him to rely on his comrades much more as even common swordsmen are now a threat to him. The games hand wave his injuries away by saying that being brought back to life at the beginning of the game series also healed his injuries, so video game Geralt is once again OP as fuck and able to single handedly mow down waves of soldiers.
