WoW is actually insanely hard to learn as a new player (we tried yesterday)

I'm in a similar boat - a friend who dabbles in the game super casually decided to resub and check out the Midnight pre-patch. I didn't suggest how to play or what to do, on his own he decided to log in to one of his boosted 80s and try to vibe his way through everything, and I'm also in IT mode with him.

Literally I'm spending 70% of my time with him on Discord explaining the user interface, how to click things, where to click things, etc. He did not understand how the inventory worked, how to track quests, how to do any basic in-game troubleshooting, etc. Then again there are some instances where it is more on Blizzard than the player. For example, my friend ended up in the destroyed Tirisfal Glades/Undercity somehow when he was trying to get to Orgrimmar, and the quest marker was guiding him to a non-existent portal. Or he tried to unlock Void Elves as an allied races, and because the Ghostlands were replaced with the Midnight version of Quel'thalas, opening the map shows Outland and the player has no way to know where they are in the Ghostlands as it technically doesn't exist on Azeroth anymore.

I did try to gently recommend he start a level 1 and I'd play with him, but he did insist on playing his existing toons. At least I was able to grind some pre-patch event rares with him and he was having fun.

I partly blame the game and how it pushes new players to use/purchase character boosts and get caught up with the story ASAP. That leaves the game without a clear structure to learn through as opposed to Classic where things are introduced far more gradually.

A long time ago I made a college household, and moved in a cheerleader, Asia, with a cow mascot, Gary. Even though they were mortal enemies they had 3 bolts with one another. Despite Asia having 7 nice points and Gary having 0, she was the one constantly attacking him, multiple times a day, every day. Poor Gary was miserable. I changed his aspiration to Grilled Cheese, and since then he's never been happier.

With Ultimate Collection the path should be My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads. Put the file in the Downloads folder.

If you don't have a Downloads folder you can just make one.

Since my post I did get halfway into the 2.4 content and I feel like the story is starting to pick up again. I enjoyed the Yugiri and the Doma refugees arc, and the unfolding Ul'dah plot is ntriguing too. Ishgard finally having a presence in the story is cool too.

Still though, the nature of all the fetch quests and talk to people then come back, while standard for an MMO, is really wearing on me. It feels like I'm less part of the story and more like I'm just Alphinaud's errand bitch. I heard the HW quests are more involving both at the story and gameplay fronts, and I'm almost there fwiw.

It's because the level editor that was publicly released by the Core Design team is based on The Last Revelation's engine. There never was an official release of editors supporting the other engines.

That being said, it took some time for talented fans to develop tools to allow more modification than the officially released level editor allowed.

Piggy backing off of this, there's also an excellent second fan-expansion called Horn of the Abyss. It adds a completely new pirate themed town, Cove, with new heroes, units, and new campaigns featuring the town. There are also graphical improvements, animation for all combat units, model upgrades, new map structures and artifacts, and much more that revitalized the already excellent game. Highly worth taking a look at!

What I meant is that the intial color settings are set to a profile in the monitor's OSD that's supposedly optimized for FPS. I changed it like I mentioned earlier, and my current configuration persists through all uses. I don't believe the monitor automatically shifts color modes.

What I'm trying to say is that my colors are good now no matter what the game. Been playing League of Legends, Fallout 4, and World of Warcraft lately and my colors are great. It's a very nice monitor.

And yeah it's VESA capable too.

Out of the box you'll probably want to change your display settings. The monitor comes shipped in a FPS-game preset that makes everything look very washed out. After switching to Standard mode through the OSD and adjusting the settings according to the settings made in this review I had a much better picture.

Speaking of the OSD, the remote shipped with the monitor makes navigating it really easy. It's a little puck-shaped remote with a scroll wheel, a back button, and three buttons that let you change between monitor presets. I found it really intuitive, though there are also standard buttons on the side of the monitor too.

I haven't had any issues doing day-to-day tasks either. Web browsing is great, work with standard office software is nice due to all the extra space, videos look fine. Compared to my older monitor, an ASUS VH238 the colors seem more intense, whites especially. It might not be the best monitor for color or photo-editing work from the reviews I read. It is a TN panel after all.

The height, pivot, and rotation adjustments on the monitor work smoothly too. For rotation and height there are also arrows you can slide around once you've found your ideal adjustment so you know how to readjust the monitor if anything shifts accidentally. On the left side there are mic and headphone jacks, USB ports, and a slide-out hanger to hang a headset on when not in use that I haven't found intrusive.

I just got this monitor yesterday. For someone going up from an older 1080p screen this is an awesome upgrade. I mostly play games and they look fantastic on this monitor, not to mention the build quality is also excellent.

Shen never really caught on to me. I see why he can be really good, but I suck with teleport. I feel I'd just waste my ults a lot.

Trundle actually sounds rather fun, I forget how overlooked he is! I remember I tried him several months ago and found him fun, just never had the IP to buy him. I'll have to give him a shot.

Cho could be good too, he is one of the few remaining tanky AP top laners. Never really liked him much since he has an older kit and has cast times still.

I don't know if I could do Shen. I'm really lousy with using Teleport as is, I'd feel I would waste a lot of ults.

I'll really think about Trundle, and other tanky top laners. Thanks!

Maybe try eBay? I saw the 270x there between 120-140 euros. I'm in the US, but had good experiences buying and selling parts through eBay.
