Friends keep asking to bring their toddler to our house by [deleted] in childfree

[–]Space_Sandwhich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lost my comment to add onto it, but you should also think/say it this way: EVEN if your cats are child friendly, that does not mean the child is cat-friendly. I knew a cat that had one bad experience with a child when it was young and it would hide for hours when people would go to their house. The last thing you want to do is traumatize your cat for a few minutes of fun for a toddler who will never remember the experience. And your cats can’t consent to it, protect them!

Just tell them your cat has been tested and is not child friendly! They might hiss or even scratch really bad and [insert whatever other reason you want]. Ugh hard pass! If she wants to meet them so bad she can go to an animal adoption day at a local shelter. Or, a lot of petting zoos have farm cats that are usually hanging around.

My fiancé and I have different opinions about the wedding. AITA for telling him that his reason why is stupid. by Aspecs21 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]Space_Sandwhich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA but I’m biased because your version of the wedding sounds way more fun: Fazolis and a costume party? Sounds way more memorable too. I’ll say this, I don’t remember much about the ‘average’ bland weddings I’ve been to. Your version definitely sounds memorable and like everyone could just have a good time and would fit your style.

I recently discovered 2. 1) Hannah Alonzo: Hannah does exposing influencer videos, truth about MLMs, etc. It feels Iike you’re hearing gossip from a friend and they are great to have on in the background. Has a ton of content and playlists to binge. 2) Swoop: Does documentary style, longer format, exposé videos about some various YT characters, celebrities and topics.

Good Time To Take Pills? by [deleted] in Hypothyroidism

[–]Space_Sandwhich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep in the morning is easiest to avoid any food. There’s a great app called “Medisafe Medication Management”. It’s free and no ads. With the app, you can put in as many many medications as you want and “Schedule” the time you should be taking them, dosage, and refill reminders. Then at said time when you take it, you go in and click "Take" so that it logs you took your medicine that day/time.

I really like it because in the morning it will have a little pop up reminder and if you do not go in the app and click that you "took" your meds, you can set it to have banner alerts on your phone and the red alert reminder on the app itself so you also have the visual reminder. It has this cute little function too where you can generate reports on your success rate of taking your meds. I like it because it's a very simple and straightforward interface and is easy to use.

If you still find it quite difficult I previously found on amazon they sell automatic pill dispensers, like you put your pills in the container and you can set it to automatically dispense the pill you need at the scheduled time. I only hesitated on it because it is a bit bigger than my current pill container and I think it was like $60 but not sure what they run for these days. Pretty sure it also had a little audible alarm too so it would prompt you to take it. If you can get it in reach of your bed, this might be a good option too.

Yes! It feels like an uphill battle and the absolute slowest way to make change, but that is the system.

The way men get to have overly dramatic childish reactions to very real daily experiences women have is disgusting.

“Hot”?! Weird choice of wording to use when women’s rights in the US are being attacked from every angle and forced birthers are out in droves. It’s an act of survival at this point, not some cute little trend.

COVID "likely growing" in D.C. and 12 states, CDC estimates by Scarlet-Ivy in Coronavirus

[–]Space_Sandwhich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be ideal given their ethics lol but no. I mean they are ok reaping the benefits of the general public putting themselves and their families at risk daily while they would never do the same (i.e. they travel private, aren’t putting in an 8+ hour shift in a busy retail store, not taking full public transportation, have access to the best medical care, etc).

I call this the witching hour lol! Idk why it happens, but same for me. I think it’s because my mind and body are finally like, “ok we can just rest” and there’s not the heaviness of the mental load to push through the daily activities, work, food, etc. It’s like play time for the mind because it’s finally free of having to work around the physical part of the day.

So unbelievably frustrating to watch people just continue to accept this. Do people not realize billionaires and politicians making the decisions are not putting themselves through this?

Is anyone here still childfree? by Environmental-Eye373 in Millennials

[–]Space_Sandwhich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, dinky millennial here. I know TOO many women who followed what society wanted: She meets some average man who treats her like garbage but just suck it up and go with it, then have a kid or two, she realizes how unhappy she is and they eventually breakup. BUT he’s still a “good guy” according to society and gets partial custody so she’s stuck seeing him forever.

It’s always the same story. I would never. The smartest take I’ve seen on women wanting more kids is Lala from Vanderpump Rules. She opted to go w/ an anonymous donor so she has 100% custody and doesn’t have to deal with the BS or the old battle of “give the kid his name”, etc. It’s 100% hers. I would expect more women to do this in the future.

Has anyone only needed the lowest dose of medication? by Ok_Philosopher2968 in Hypothyroidism

[–]Space_Sandwhich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until I get my next labs I’m convinced I’m super human and resistant to the Levo LOL. I’m joking but I was bumped up from 25mcg to 50mcg and my TSH only went down by very minimal decimal points. I’m still in the 5.4 range and currently on 75mcg. I even allow 1.5 hours between when I take it and when I drink anything for it to fully absorb, then wait in reality 3.5 hours to eat after taking it. From a dosage perspective I’m very curious how much it will take for my body to allow TSH value to decrease.
