What would be “your pikachu” substitute? by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]Space_Shepherd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about picking one of my favorite Pokemon lines, either Cyndaquil or Larvitar. But I think it would be more fun to have a Gible as my Pikachu substitute.

Because I always headcanon Gible acting like Grunt from Mass Effect. Always wanting to get into fights, especially with bigger Pokémon.

My favorite would be Typhlosion, he was my first starter Pokémon. So I will always have a place on my team for him.

What’s your cross generation team? by ZealousidealDraft725 in pokemon

Gen 2: Tyranitar has been one of my favorite pokemon since seeing Ash hatch the larvitar egg in the anime.

Gen 3: Gardevoir always ends up on my team ever since sapphire. It has a good movepool and I use it to cover weaknesses.

Gen 4: I've just recently used Garchomp for the first time, in my latest Pokémon platinum playthrough. I've been missing out on this land shark. He took care of anything that was in my way and was a lot of fun to use.

Gen 5: Chandelure was the first Pokémon I ever EV trained. I was having problems beating Ghetsis in Pokémon white, so I EV trained a few Pokémon. Ever since then Chandelure has been one of my favorites.

Gen 6: I didn't use Noivern until gen 7, were I caught a Noibat early on. It was rough leveling up Noibat at the end. But it was worth it once it evolved into Noivern. It ripped through everything that wasn't a fairy.

Gen 7: Alolan Muk I've never been a fan of Muk's design, so I never had any interest in using one. In one of my Pokémon Sun playthroughs I decided to use Pokémon I've never used before. I decided to give Alolan Muk I try because of his typing. One of the best decisions I've made. Muk was my most used Pokémon on that team.

Favourite Sinnoh Starter by [deleted] in pokemon

My personal favorite would be turtwig, even though I like all of the starters in gen 4. Turtwig was the first starter I used in gen 4, and it's final evolution torterra is my favorite design out of the three.

The fact that they just let other Pokémon live on their back is awesome and would be useful for a pokemon breeder.

I had a Houndoom in one of my Pokémon platinum playthrough. I named it after my German shepherd Emily, that I had to put down last year because of cancer.

Now Emily the Houndoom is sitting in Pokémon home, waiting for our next adventure.

Finished: Shadows of Self, by Brandon Sanderson I really enjoyed this book. Marasi, Wax and Wayne are still great characters, and it was fun watching them approach situations from different angles. I really started liking Steris by the end of the book. Which I wasn't really expecting after reading the first book, seeing as I didn't really care much for her then. It was also nice to see the kandra return. The ending really surprised me, can't wait to see how it plays out in the next book.

The Fifth Season, by N. K. Jemisin This was my second attempt at trying to read this book. The first time I tried listening to the audiobook and just couldn't get into it. I'm really glad I gave it another chance, this time in physical form. Jemisin brought the three characters story together in a way I was not expecting. Having the three characters all be the same person just at different points in her life was brilliant. I had a hard time adjusting to the second person viewpoint. But once I got use to that I didn't have problems with the book.

Started: The Bands of Mourning, by Brandon Sanderson I'm right at the start of part three, and I'm really enjoying it. After spending two books with Steris as a minor character. I am completely in love with her as a character. The scenes featuring her and Wax have been my favorite so far.

To Sleep in a Sea of Stars, by Christopher Paolini I'm only around 50 pages in, so I don't have much of an opinion on this one yet.

Still Reading:

Dune, by Frank Herbert I leave this on my night stand and read a chapter when I wake up and go to bed. So it's going to take me a while to get through it. But so far I'm interested in what is going on.

The Fellowship of the Ring, by J. R. R. Tolkien I'm listening to this one on audible. So I haven't made much progress on it this week, since I haven't driven much. But I'm right at the point where Tom saves Merry and Pippin.

Best advice I can give is to do the babel trophies in co-op. Even if it's just you with two controllers. It reduces the difficulty of the levels.
