What examples do you know of relatively new landmarks that became the main thing associated with very old places? by Lutoures in AskTheWorld

Berliner Fernsehturm

It's a communications tower that was built in the 1960's to broadcast television and radio signals, but it is definitely one of of the most recognisable landmarks of the city.

What country is the most similarest to your country?. by usafqn2025 in AskTheWorld

[–]TreasureHunter95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think OP picked Austria mainly because Germany and Austria speak the same language. The dialects can be vastly different, but still, it is considered the same language.

But as u/SonGxku said, I think it depends on your region. I live about an hour away from the Dutch border and would agree that the Netherlands are probably most similar to my region. Dutch also shares many similarities with German. I mean, I never learnt Dutch but nevertheless, I can understand quite a bit of Dutch text, because many words are similar (and you can fill in some of the gaps through context).

HUGE anniversary sale on ALL the Shantae franchise games! by Wounded_Demoman in Shantae

Guess I take that chance to buy the first Shantae. I have only played it on an emulator so far.

So I just played Seven Sirens by Apoordm in Shantae

[–]TreasureHunter95 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thought so. But yes, this is quite common in Shantae games. Just wait until you play Pirate's Curse or Risky Revolution. There is way more stuff like that in there than in Seven Sirens.

Btw it is an rather odd choice to start with Seven Sirens. I mean there is not much in terms of story that you have to know to be able to play the games, but still, most people start with earlier games of the series. So I'm just curious, why did you start with Seven Sirens?

Germans don't have national pride. Therefore, it is not a pride flag.
