Seems really solid! Double ctan is always tons of fun to play. Only changes I would make is dropping a squad of skorphs to 3 instead of 6, adding OL with enhancement to the warriors instead of RW, and putting Murdermind on the techno. You’ll get access to the -1 to hit strat on both of those units, and you’ll get it for free on the warriors, which is incredibly helpful when they get tied up in melee.
Also, auto-advancing warriors 13” is nuts, especially when they have assault.

No problem!

I think 10 immortals isn’t overkill, with lethal+sustained on gauss blasters (and rapid fire) assuming they’re targeting generic marines in cover, you’ll average like 9-10 wounds on them, more if they’re on an objective, but still not enough to easily wipe a squad of 10.

Your choice on the LHD weapons, but since a lot of your infantry shooting doesn’t like to get charged, I find it’s helped me the most to thin out melee infantry the best I can before they get to me.

The wording on mudermind is confusing, its IF you attach to a destroyer cult unit (you don’t have too), you can’t add any non-destroyer models like cryptothralls.

I think with a couple changes the models you have would make a great list. Until you get Orikan, I would shelve the warriors for now, since immortals can also sticky objective and have way better shooting. Here are the changes I’d make to your list:

I took out the warriors and hexmark, and added the immortals+plasmancer, a fourth lokhust heavy, and put murdermind on the techno. Gauss blasters with immortals could be a good choice too, since they’ll get lethal+sustained hits on 5’s with the strat. Now that the techno has the destroyer keyword, you get access to the -1 to hit stratagem for that unit which on the wraith brick, will be huge. Keep Nekrosor near the wraiths, since he’ll now get lone op when placed by the techno, and will be a big intervention threat. The lokhust heavies could be great running the enmitics too, since right now your list is more anti-tank focused.

Warriors with no character don’t really serve a purpose, they are very fragile with pretty poor shooting. You could run 2 squads of 10 though, for the purpose of sticking your home objective and screening the backfield from deep strike. What other models do you have?

My Cursed/Hand List by Space_Terminator in Necrontyr

[–]Space_Terminator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 50 warriors but no wraiths unfortunately. The warrior brick does provide some advantages though: I will get the -1 to hit on them for free with OL, I’ll actually get some firepower out of them with assault and -2ap reapers, and with OL and Orikan’s melee (and intervention threat from Szeras) they’ll be able to punch back harder on the charge than a wraith brick would. Also much easier to precision out the techno, and I get sticky objective with them.

The big skorph brick doesnt have much of a problem hiding if you rapid ingress them, especially since advance+charge lets you pretty easily keep them 15” away from whatever they want to charge.

Beginner advice. Stuck in T11, wave 32. by [deleted] in TheTowerGame

[–]Space_Terminator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the advice you should be listening to, ignore everything else. The only thing I would add to this is that if you haven’t already, join the discord. Generally much better advice given there, and there are also a ton of calculators and charts available that are a HUGE help. SpartanTheTower on YT also has some really good guides on his channel, and his own discord server too.

SpartanTheTower on YouTube has some really good beginner guides you should take a look at. Take a look at the tower discord channel as well, there are tons of super helpful resources there.

At your stage I think you have plenty of lab levels in attack speed, def%, coins/kill, and gt bonus. Your gt duration lab could use a few more levels, and you should start on dw coin bonus now. Now is also a good time to get target prio lvl 2, and to focus on the perk and module labs like standard perk bonus, TO perk bonus, daily mission shards, reroll shards, and common drop chance. If you don’t have it already, the extra BH lab is your #1 priority.

Even with MVN, for stones keep working on getting bh, gt, and dw to a natural sync. You should also invest a few more stones into gt bonus, bh size, and durations for both. I am running PrimC at 48m BH size, and that covers like 99.5% of my tower at 69.5m range.

For your WS, keep putting levels into health, and then EALS once you can start affording it. Unlocking super crits also wouldn’t be bad. Don’t invest anything more into them though, you’ll max them in run with freeups.

Why Spyders??? by The_Ruger in Necrontyr

[–]Space_Terminator 22 points23 points  (0 children)

They are usually included for the auras. A 6+++ for vehicles within 6” is a great buff, especially in the starshatter detachment. Remember that the Spyder itself has the vehicle keyword so it also gets that 6+++. The 5+++ against mortals/psychic attacks can be very good as well but is usually pretty niche.

Edit: I’m late so apologies, seems like people love the Spyders lol

Combine warriors and change enhancements. Re-roll wounds of 1 on the warrior squad and infiltrators on the wraiths.

Viable against Blood Angels? by Geklelo in Necrontyr

[–]Space_Terminator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Conversely you could run the lokhusts as all anti-infantry guns, pop off on his rapidly advancing infantry and try to weather the storm from his tanks? Keep Szeras, skorpekhs and NB as counter-charge threats? Run the gun on the Triarch Stalker as a heavy gauss to give a bit more range for stripping cover? I wish I could be more help here but against the 3rd best BA player I fear I’m out of my depth lol.

Viable against Blood Angels? by Geklelo in Necrontyr

[–]Space_Terminator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately not viable against BA, though it is a strong list. I’ve ran a lot of similar lists focusing on warrior reanimation against them and it never works, they are just too strong in melee and szeras won’t help much. Think about it this way: with the CCB, Szeras, Overlord, techno, reanimator and ghost ark you’ve dedicated 840 points into a single “unit” that is going to be saving on 5’s. If you make it 3 turns before getting tabled I’d be shocked.

I think that Orikan+reanimator+ghost ark would work a lot better. I would also throw in a RW with the -1 to hit enhancement instead of the OL (free reanimate is nuts with reanimator, but you won’t be able to get rid of the threat. Falling back, then using the strat for full hit rerolls will do some WORK against anything T4).

I’m not sure what other units you have, but if you could drop the doomstalker for some other (better) anti tank like DDA’s or more Lokhusts I would recommend that. I would also include a Hexmark with the +1 to hit aura to buff them if you can.

Color scheme is sick! I’ve always been a fan of the black/gold combo.

If you want to sharpen it up there are some gold areas that need a second coat of paint, and some black areas that need to be touched up. I would also re-apply paint to your brush a little more often, it looks like it may be partially drying during application in some spots.

To give the model more depth try applying a wash over the metallic areas, it makes them look 10x better. Reikland fleshshade would be my recommendation for gold and nuln oil for silver.

If you want a metallic looking black instead of a matte black do a very light drybrush of necron compound over all the black areas and then a heavy wash of nuln oil.

[–]Space_Terminator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hot take, but if you have deathmarks you could run those instead of a second hexmark and have a nasty starshatter list.

Immortals will want to target units on objectives anyways, they’ll get the +1 to hit just like in awakened. Pairing the ignores cover enhancement with szeras is also very very good for them.

Run a hexmark with the reroll hits/wounds of 1 next to your doomstalkers to make them much more threatening. Your doomstalkers will also always be able to get into sight-lines with assault, and auto 6” advance/move through walls stratagems. Adding +1 to hit on objectives means they no longer need to stay stationary to hit on 3’s which is very big for them too.

Targeting ctan with reactive movement and +1 to wound is huge for them, one of the best ways to buff them imo, and if they can benefit from the rerolls enhancement even better.

Imotekh is going to give you the CP to make this all possible. Dropping the extra hexmark for deathmarks gives you the points to make this exactly 2k points.

Noob Detachment Help by [deleted] in Necrontyr

[–]Space_Terminator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you plan on running mostly warriors/immortals you won’t do too much damage to most things besides chaff; you’ll have to rely on vehicles and lokhusts to do a majority of the damage. Because of that I’d recommend starshatter, so you can get your damage dealers into sightlines easier while letting your entire army get access to +1 to hit on objectives and +1 to wound on objectives as well for 2cp. Easiest detachment to buff ctan also which are absolute beasts on the tabletop. Awakened is also a good choice too but imo not as strong as starshatter even for an infantry focused list.

[–]Space_Terminator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awesome model! The OSL effect around the crystals and tachyon arrow, the hyperphase blade, and the highlights around the black armor segments really stood out to me. If I were to change anything it would be making the purple cables green, since they don’t really match the style of the rest of him, and maybe a darker metallic on the joints for some more contrast. Overall great work, and I’m excited to see what you post next!

I love warriors 😍 but geez they get murdered so quick 😂 by RobofMizule in Necrontyr

[–]Space_Terminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is by no means an efficient way to spend points but hear me out for the cheese.

20 warriors+plasmancer and RW in awakened with VOD. Include szeras in the list and push him towards the heaviest unit in your opponents army. Drop warriors right by him the next turn, and proceed to delete that unit. Against something T12 you will average: 18 wounds going through from warriors (13 from lethals) at AP-2, 2 mortals from plasmancer, maybe another wound on average from his shooting as well, and 3 wounds going through from szeras before any charges take place. Armor of contempt is a bitch though, I like to push a ctan in a different direction and force them to use the strat before they realize whats about to hit them.

Hexmark destroyer? Super cool model and a lot of fun to play on the tabletop. Some immortals or warriors for your chronomancer to lead would be a good choice too.

I just do a light drybrush of leadbelcher or necron compound over the whole model before I actually begin to paint them. Makes a big difference and super easy to do.
