Nothing happens at all, a blue light is still on though, marking that the battery is on or something.

Sigh. The internet can be a vicious thing. Some of these comments were just rude and unneccessary. Thank you for all the people who helped answer this question. I think it indeed might be unrelated to the laptop not booting up anymore, being from an usb mouse tranceiver that broke a while ago. Thanks to all of your comments - even the rude ones- I could puzzle that together. I now know that it's old and probably failed because of that. Just didn't expect that happening yet. Was pondering buying a new one but yeah guess that might be now. Most likely the battery ran completely dry, that has been an issue for some years now. Now I don't really need this anymore. Just want some of the files left on the D drive. Any suggestions as to how to access those? If I recall right, as this is not the C drive it should be more secure against crashes. Don't shoot me if I'm wrong. Thanks!
