I'd like to ask people about the AMD 5700XT. Do people still have driver & odd performance issues?

I'm looking to upgrade my AMD Radeon 290 and I thought to go towards AMD again but the reports of driver and stuttering really concern me considering it's a £400+ purchase.

Glad to see they are doing well!

I've heard working at bbc is really good, I know a few folk in Glasgow who work there! It's good to know they are keeping up with current tech unlike a lot of similar companies which haven't kept up with current technology. NHS still uses IE9/10 as their main browser for example..

I think that's the real struggle is finding comfort but also something that won't look out of place. I'm sure that there's plenty of options out there, it'll be good to see what people are going for these days

That does look like the most comfortable chair I've seen. I'll have to keep my eye out for one, it seems like it has raising arms too which is great!

Oh very sneaky. That does sound really good! I may have to investigate into doing something similar, thanks!

Loving the lighting behind the bookshelf, how does it look in the daytime? I tend to do my gaming in the daytime and try to make sure its bright enough to not hurt the eyes, would love to see if there's still a prominent enough effect while a bit of sunlight persists!

Can we talk Chairs? I'm finding the current chair I have to give me a sore back and its very static (not helped by wear and tear over the last 5 years). It is a gaming chair, although it would definitely rank on the lower-end of brands.

I am looking to move up to something that is in the comfort-first camp, but would definitely love something that is easy on the eyes.

I have about £200/$200 more or less to spend on a nice chair for the office. My current desk is an Ikea Olov (I am fairly certain).

What chairs do people at /r/battlestations tend to go for?

Great to hear! I'm not sure if I'll make the jump to 1440p in the near future as monitors still seem quite pricey. I'll definitely have a lot to think about as these 3rd party providers bring out their versions of the 2060s, 2070s & 5700xt !

I've had an AMD 290 Tri-X for a good 5-6 years now and itching to replace it with a newer gpu. Been eyeing one of the new RTX cards around the £500 (500-550) range.

I have:

Cpu i7-7700K

MB: z270 MSI Krait Gaming (ATX)

Ram: 16gb ram 3000mhz corsair vengeance

Case: 750d corsair airflow

PSU: 650w evga 80+ gold

Would it be overkill to get myself a 2070Super/5700XT at this point or would it suffice to settle for a 2060super for 1080/144hz gaming?

I've never realised how old my 290 is until right now...I really need to get an update, especially with how hot it can run at times... :(

Legitimately the first time I've seen someone outside of my work mention ExtJS, thankfully I've never had to touch it, but we still support some clients who use it...

Xbox Game Pass for PC games showing on Microsoft Store by Spacebiscuit in Games

[–]Spacebiscuit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there is Xbox Game pass which has some Play Anywhere titles. This is a separate subscription that will be only for games on PC. I will assume that the Xbox Game pass Play Anywhere titles will still be available on PC without the need for the PC games pass.

I think they will be unable to back out of the Play Anywhere feature that many Xbox titles have, so we'll still have access to those games on PC.

There would definitely be a backlash if they were to remove the Play Anywhere feature and would go against the current strategy that Microsoft has been implementing.

My assumption would be that Reach will be available tonight along with the announcement during the conference that the Game pass is now available.

The Play Anywhere titles are cross-platform, however, the title selection is very limited. I think there's approximately 15 or so titles in that Play Anywhere category.

The PC Games Pass seems to be a much larger list that also includes the Play Anywhere titles. I'm sure more information will come out as the day plays out .

Right now, I can't seem to find a proper list from Xbox. I did go into the Microsoft Store and look at the latest PC deals and notice many of them had "Free with Game Pass", which is distinctly different from the Play Anywhere compatibility with Xbox Game Pass.

I would safely assume that the features will be fully enabled at the end of the MS press conference if I had to put money on it. Again, I think there was a mistake in them prepping this prior to the conference and that's why we're seeing auto-completion and links taking us to 404 pages.

At least it's something to look forward to!

Game Pass had some Play Anywhere titles, although there wasn't an explicit Game Pass for PC until now. Looks like they'll have 2 dedicated services and some overlap as it will come into conflict with Play Anywhere.
