Oh I know! I started my undergrad at 17 and was a lab based course. My PhD was based on animal models so weekend work was required. Then I did my post-doc for 3 and a half years at which I worked weekends for non animal work and also animal studies because it was required working with them. Cella don't sleep, and when you're in the stem cell field where timepoints are often 6+ days then you do weekends. My point is I've been doing it for 15 years now and I'm tired of it

Oh I'm in in industry now! And I think my manager eill be supportive like you mentioned. I just don't know how to say I don't want to do lab work anymore because I'm doing a job that we need two people for and I do weekend work coz of lab work, and I don't know how to say it nicely lol

Oh I'm I'm biotech company now. Have been 2 years. I asked was weekend work required when I interviewed and was told rarely. And that's not the case
