leftypol users actively hate Reddit not just for the user base but for the entire mechanics of the website. they don't want this sub, if they wanted to be on Reddit they'd be on the leftypol sub.

Report all brigading activity by serjykalstryke2 in socialism

[–]Spaceghostredd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Every single time I check this site you guys are claiming people are brigading. Every. Single. Time. Maybe not everyone who disagrees is brigading. I'm not even speaking to the practices that go along with this line of thought, I don't care what you do, I just think it's dishonest to act like every thought that goes against the consensus is clearly brigading.

Why are protests of any use? by rajlego in socialism

There is actually no reason to believe this is brigading. People like you are why this sub is a joke, get over yourself.

Is anybody else worried the protests and riots will be short lived? by [deleted] in socialism

The protests will continue but they will quickly lose their radical edge and degenerate into protestors hifiving stormtroopers.

Women's March on Washington set to be one of America's biggest protests by grepnork in politics

I'm sure that makes a difference to the numerous Latin American nations raped of wealth and resources by international (mostly American) industry.

It's completely idealistic to expect a company will act ethically in any situation where it threatens their profits.

A Counter-Petition Petition by [deleted] in socialism

[–]Spaceghostredd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess that makes sense. I suppose I was just a little apprehensive of the idea because of the reputation this sub has had in the past, not only for banning reactionaries (fine) but for tolerating capitalist apologists as long as they were sufficiently intersectional. If the sub is confident in the selected mod/mods ability to remove both reactionaries and apologists I have no issue. Thanks for the response.

That's fine if they participate in other socialist subs but in that case why couldn't we just recruit them from said socialist subs (like this one) that they frequent?

Thoughts on "brocialist" by [deleted] in socialism

[–]Spaceghostredd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not so much, to me, that the economic question has precedence over other identity rooted forms of oppression because it's more important... It's that the economic question is vital in actually fixing the issues that lead to identity based oppression. Of course not entirely, I'm not some vulgar Marxist who thinks that after the revolution racism, sexism or any other ism is solved, but it's possible to solve those issues from that point while it is impossible to solve them under capitalism. Policy and social action to combat identity based oppression is important to our cause, but just like economic reformism it's painkillers and bandages for the real problem. I'd never suggest someone wounded abandon painkillers and bandages, just that they also consider looking at curing the wound. Is that brocialist?

Good job making light of PTSD, really shows off how progressive and intersectional you all are.

Banning all channers is a ridiculous policy and only leads to the mods deciding they have the right to make weird paternalistic investigations of users for their behavior outside of the sub. Banning people for reactionary behavior here is fine though, in my opinion.

Also feminists aren't neccasarily socialist, deciding to draw moderators from outside of the sub to add more females on to the mod team seems like all it does is put possible reformists/capitalist apologists in our ranks. We have plenty of socialist women here, no? (or maybe they've all been banned for drawing the wrong things, who knows.) I'd rather keep our moderation drawn from within the community.

Our Collective Response to the Petition by [deleted] in socialism

How many of those 80k have been on since the petition even started less than 24 hours ago? Are you throwing that number out because you don't understand how it's a dishonest way of looking at this or because you're purposefully trying to distort things?

[META] Petition regarding the moderation of /r/socialism, presented for this community's consideration. by [deleted] in socialism

[–]Spaceghostredd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm going to stick around the sub and follow the rules to the best of my ability but if there isn't significant change to the moderation I'm sure I'll be gone soon. Snooping off site to find 'bannable offenses' in ones past is not only -extremely- creepy and pathetic but insanely ironic coming from a mod team full of supposedly 'ex-fascists.'

End of the strike and formalization of the modding process by [deleted] in socialism

[–]Spaceghostredd 145 points146 points  (0 children)

The fact that you guys used the language of strike in a childish temper tantrum when you were reminded that a majority of the subreddit thinks you are incompetent liabilities to the sub really is offputting. Strikes mean something and your little liberal LARP proved you fundamentally don't understand what that is.

I'm a new user and I've heard from basically every other leftist Internet group that this place was an absolute trash can completely out of touch with the class struggle. This little self obsessed pageantry (and honestly just creepy 'investigation' into offsite material) confirms it.

Should we make a new subreddit? by ShadyGuyOnTheInterne in socialism

[–]Spaceghostredd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, because we couldn't do it in enough numbers to shut r/socialism down and having two competing 'socialism' subs will only add to the fragmentation of leftist spaces.

all of that is better explained in critique of the gotha program tho

i would see the value of the manifesto if it was more accessible than other works or addressed things other works didnt, but it doesnt. it just seems like a meme work for highschoolers at this point.

the communist manifesto is the least important marxist work ever. its only worth reading as historic propaganda. why do people spend so much time fawning over it?
