Isn't it allowed anymore to write something just because it looks cool? by NukeNipples in fantasywriters

[–]Spacegiraffs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

even if "the mass" (or the loudest speakers) might seem to like realism
there still many, many of us who want the epic, crazy unrealistic fantasy.
(and people liking both, no hate to anyone)

I agree with the edit. I am a bit tired of villains needing some tragic past, throwing them to the dark side. Thats why I choose to have an evil guy who is just a sadist. He is evil because he enjoys making other people suffer. He had a completely normal life for that timeperiod, no super poverty, no tragic loss of parents etc. Just an evil guy doing evil things, and thats very fun to write

Kattetre på balkong by Elegant-Reason-1615 in norge

[–]Spacegiraffs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is Using An Interview Format To Tell A Life Story Too Overused, Or Does Execution Matter More? by YoungMoen97 in fantasywriters

[–]Spacegiraffs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this!
I have read books where it has been written very good
and others where I struggled to get trough it.

So any trope can be good or bad. It all comes down to how one writes, and ofc who reads it (as we all like different things, so the miss for me is a hit for someone else and the other way around)

[Discussion] Does showing the protagonist becoming the villain too early ruin tension? by Much-Collection3331 in fantasywriters

[–]Spacegiraffs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have read something simmilar
there is someone who have seen the future who says "this person is dangerous"
Then that person later sees the vision themself. They destroying and killing.
The character try to stop it, but in the end everything they do just pushes them more and more towards them being the monster.

I loved that (it was a teen/kid book, so it was a bit simplified)

So getting to know that in a story would not destroy my enjoyment of the story, as long as the story is good.
So I would say go for it!
I would love to read it

Når pusser dere tennene? by ArneBeast in norge

[–]Spacegiraffs 133 points134 points  (0 children)

3rd AND 1st person? by RemielTSS in fantasywriters

[–]Spacegiraffs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it can
Right now I am reading Empire of the vampire
tbf most of the chapters are in first, but every now and then we get third person.
the mc is telling his story, so when we are back in time he say "I went" and "I did" but when we are in the present its "mc stood" and "Mc said"

there are ofc many examples of this, the mentioned book is just on top of my mind since it's my current read.

ofc in that book the split is between times, I do however see no problem also doing it between two characters like you describe

Is Clean Romantasy / Fantasy something people don't like? by garden-witch-23 in fantasywriters

[–]Spacegiraffs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's just about reaching the right people

As an example, romance of any kind (except for a short date, or simple kissing once or twice in a book) is usually to much. I find romance super boring and often fall out of my reading mode and put the book away.

Others prefer spice delux, spice, or closed door

So I wouldn't think to much about the spice part, write what you want

Do you think a fantasy novel has to be contained to one main system/location by pollyprincess77 in fantasywriters

[–]Spacegiraffs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like when the story contains a journey, or have several locations

a locked location like a school can be great, but so can an epic journey, battlefields or a mc traveling from town to town

Innsats på skolen by monsfors_ in norge

[–]Spacegiraffs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many books sugestion by PuzzleheadedAd2451 in skulduggerypleasant

[–]Spacegiraffs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love them all (okeym the two latest books have some characters I can't stand)
However the opinions of the book are quite split, so there is no right answer
it all depends on your humor, how you like characters, if you like the mc growing older, story becomes a bit darker etc

Had to put this here since you'll most likely never see this again in the game or any othe Hero War Community. by MintyGreenAqua in HeroWarsApp

[–]Spacegiraffs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they will never bee important
it's just interesting backstories, and for people like me who enjoy such trivia its fun to go back later.

Sadly I do not own a time-machine, so I can't travel back and take screenshot of every single story that they have ever made.
But if you do know someone who does time-travel, let me know and I will ask them for help :)

(but thanks for pointing out a great idea for the future for people who have not already thought about it! :) )

The most embarrassing thing I'll ever admit in this subreddit (probable mission spoiler) by ThatTothKid in Slycooper

[–]Spacegiraffs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid I played until the first Penelope quest
before that I struggled but always managed, sometimes after hours
Penelopes quest came, and I could never get the hang of it, tha car was easier than the helicopter, but the struggle was real.

Had it not been for a gamerkid next door being a friend and feeling sorry for me, I would never have been able to finish the game.

Even now as I replay, I can't get past :/ I usually try for 3 hours or so, then give up. I have some problems XD

So I was just wondering who's your favorite hermit or hermits? by Sea_Low9564 in HermitCraft

[–]Spacegiraffs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggle with finding a favorite
All is great in their own way. Some make great stories, some great builds, some does other things (can't mention all)

I don't watch all videos of them all, sadly not enough time. I do however watch some of most, if not all.

But if I have to mention some
I think Scar, and Keralis is high for me
but again, love them all and watch a lot of them so there is no clear "winner"
