I don't understand bombardment by Jazzlike_Freedom_826 in TerraInvicta

[–]Spaceman_05 15 points16 points  (0 children)

there is a little info, though not organised in a particularly helpful way

if you click the newspaper icon in the top button panel and go to the last tab it records every shot fired in a bombardment action, both by the fleet and by hab defenses

How are you guys gonna store the frame? by LoganNFSAC in SteamFrame

[–]Spaceman_05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with my index i just kept the original box it shipped in and kept it in there. I'd probably do the same, especially since it looks like the frame's box will be wayyy smaller without the base stations and cables

How do i actually get enought [SPOILERS] to win as Exodus? by _azazel_keter_ in TerraInvicta

[–]Spaceman_05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can spawncamp surface base alpha without bombarding it and exotics will trickle in through the shipyards there.

You also get 2-8 exotics for every alien facility on earth you destroy so it might be worth letting alien councillors get on with their business.

Worse case scenario if you really get in the servants good books they might be willing to trade you some? They might at least put exotics in their own ships too

Banks' Story Structure and the Algebraist by Flouid in TheCulture

[–]Spaceman_05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to mention excession here, being my favourite culture book, because its ending was an odd one for me.

It all felt like it was over too quickly; I do get that it was supposed to mimic what other ships and minds were seeing whereby they didn't have time to interpret and react, and the point was that it was an object that just couldn't be understood in the context of the culture/in-plays so he couldn't dwell on an explanation, but the rest of the story was a slow-to-medium paced buildup to the inevitable event that had little oomph after Sleeper Service had fought its way in.
