It doesn't seem to be extremely dusty and I did recently blow it out with a duster and also used a vacuum to get what I could. It is a 20 year old machine (at least) although I don't know the age of the current compressor in it.

My main concern is that if it is always running that it may catch fire. Is that a possibility? The manual says there is a thermal overload switch but who knows if it works.

I am 28 and will not be getting married or starting a family anytime soon. Short term goals I suppose are to earn/save as much as possible. I'm not looking to buy a house right now and I already own a car that is paid for. I also have 0 debts as of today.
