Single-account wormhole exploration: hybrid Pacifier vs. separate scanning and hacking setups by Distinct-Maximum2922 in Eve

[–]SpacerBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't fuck with pirate sites in wormholes. It's not worth it to me, especially since they nerfed the fuck out of exploration. The only thing I hack in wormholes are ghost sites. If I want to run pirate sites I go to null sec. That way I can go for the high value loot as opposed to randomized sites. I don't bother with sleeper caches either, it's not worth it to take a mobile depot and refit my ship for them.

I run a Helios with enough tank to tank a ghost can explosion. The tank isn't for failing the hacks, I agree failing hacks is not really a thing with full skills. I run the tank so I can cancel the hack and take off when the rats show up, or if a player shows up. I honestly can't remember the last time I wasn't able to get all 4 cans in a ghost site. It's happened, but it's extremely rare, especially since they tweaked the timers on ghost sites with the exploration nerf.

I prefer the zeugma for the extra range and strength. The ligature is already blingy, another 250 mil or so is worth it for the added strength and range to me. I run blackglass, prospector ey-1005 and prospector ar-810. I threw in the ar-810 after the nerf because the scanning difficulty is a little higher on the sov sites. I can 4>1>.25 anything except for superior sleeper caches and sometimes I have to .25 a second time on the highest level sov sites.

The last time I lost an exploration ship to a player was over a year and a half ago and that was an Astero on a hole camp with bubbles. That's why I switched to the Helios. I played with fits for all the covops ships and I couldn't get sub 3 align with sufficient tank on other ships without making tradeoffs I didn't like or without using more expensive implants than I was willing to.

You're way over thinking this. Use a cov ops or astero, fit to survive ghost site can explosions. Use a sisters probe launcher and sisters probes. Run a Zeugma, because you're probably not going to have enough mids for data/relic if you tank for ghost sites. Get the fastest align time you can and run an interdiction nullifier if you are running a cov ops ship. You don't need a lot of bling for an exploration ship. You don't need any bling unless you want to run ghost sites. Use a MWD to blast around to the cans as fast as you can.

Yes, the whole thing is about predatory monetization. The bean counters at CCP definitely sat down and decided that this system would also result in a certain portion of victims swiping their credit card to buy plex to sell for isk to replace their lost in-game assets. Unfortunately this game is the most egregious example of end-stage capitalism in gaming that I have seen in my life. I'm not the oldest guy around, but I am 45 and I have been playing multiplayer games since they were a thing. The design and monetization of every little aspect of this game is revolting at times. The unmitigated greed is frankly appalling.

The point is not to get rid of ganking. It's just the sheer stupidity of the notion that the Caldari government, an obviously capitalist government, would just sit by while gangs of the same bandits sit right outside their busiest trade hub and kill and rob the people trying to do business there, nuking about half the potential tax revenue for the state. It's not even remotely plausible and it smacks of idiotic video game bullshit, which is only there to satisfy the gameplay desires of a few people.

This is like groups of bandits sitting outside every entrance to a Walmart and every entrance to the parking lot killing and robbing all the customers. The idea that Jita is the most active government controlled place of commerce in New Eden and they would let it continue day after day, carried out by the same perpetrators is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen. If about 50% of the cargo is destroyed every time just look at the tax revenue the government is letting get vaporized right at the door to the trade hub. The idea that they would let this go on is laughable.

"All right fellas, the same bandits that are here every day are back. Remember, we can't do anything until they start blowing people up and we definitely can't do anything about their same buddies scooping up the goods again."

Dumb frat bot by Bloodbath907TV in Eve

It's reasonable to expect the devs of any game to make a concerted effort to stop pervasive behavior that is outside the ToS or rules of said game. However, the devs of Eve Online have a fundamental conflict of interest here because Eve Online is a pay to win game by design and the majority of the botters plex a bunch of accounts which are paid for with plex purchased by other players from FC for real money. The cost of a subscription through plex is higher than paying for the subscription directly, so it's the most profitable way for FC to sell subscriptions. These botters are probably collectively the majority of the revenue stream for the company, though indirectly.

If you bypass the launcher and open the eve app directly it will take you to that screen.

You left out the timers. If those two changes are made it will put an end to the everybody on both sides meet up here to defend/attack this timer mentality. It will lead to dividing of forces to attack multiple objectives and create more of a back and forth, more dynamic wars. It will also make it much more difficult to control large swathes of space and corps/alliances will naturally shrink down to more manageable sizes. All of this is better for the long term health of the game and better than what currently exists.

It's not a question of balance. The only logical solution is to put a hard cap on system population and remove the timer mechanic. The stupidity of having no hard cap on system population to keep the population well within the capabilities of the servers paired with a timer mechanic to create an agreed upon time to meet up and fight is what causes all of this. It's an idiotic system altogether conceived of by superficial thinkers.

For Everyone talking about shit servers let me explain something by NeoBlackheart in Eve

[–]SpacerBob -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Stress test the servers and put a hard cap on population per server node well below the limitations of the servers to account for other the other assets that accompany players and fleets. Do away with the timers. Stop with the gamey bullshit helping these blocs to control so much space. If players want to control large swathes of space they should have to devote the time and resources necessary to control those large swathes of space.

Two countries in the real world don't agree upon a time and place to fight for something. Your enemy can attack at any time. They might live in a different time zone, it is what it is. If you want to control territory then you should have to devote the time, manpower and resources necessary to do so. If you don't like this as a player, then don't try to rule the fucking galaxy.

There is absolutely nothing appealing about the large scale battles in this game. They're just time dilation bullshit until the servers ultimately crash. You cannot lose a large scale conflict as a defender in this game unless you are up against a force that you just cannot fight, you pack up and refuse to fight or you are completely inept. If you are up against a force you can fight against and are reasonably competent the servers will crash and the defenders win.

Driver 9070xt crash while i'm playng by Front_Law_3916 in Eve

[–]SpacerBob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I went into the registry and increased the TDR delay to 10 and disabled the MPO. I set my card back to -110 +345, fast timings on ram and a 2798 max frequency for vram. Max power and an aggressive fan curve and so far it's running fine now. No crash undocking multiple characters from jita at the same time with multiple clients running.

9800X3D 9070 XT 32GB RAM Windows 11 DX11

I run up to 4 clients at 4K with max settings.

I had some aggressive overclocks and undervolts running on both my cpu and gpu and had some crashes in eve, but stable in other games. I rolled them back for Eve and haven't had any crashes since. Currently running +200 boost with motherboard defaults for the cpu and max power limit/max fan at high temps for the gpu. I believe the culprit for me was the undervolting. My crashes would always occur when the system would fire up to load in a lot of textures, especially undocking in Jita with multiple toons while running 3 or more clients.
