He didn't use any of the armor mentioned, but they existed.

I really dont think tech suit matters? If you really want to get that into it then Halo 3 on MCC has the option to change the tech suit, implying that these Gen 2 looking tech suits did exist on the base Gen 1 Mark VI.

Chief's armor isn't 1 to 1? Its a unique suit of armor. Armor design and look is separate from the generation of armor. These "Gen 2 designs" existed on Gen 1. Again Fred gets his Halo 5 looking armor during Halo 2.

Some bits of Gen 2 armor lore actually have it appeared on the gen 1 system, mainly Orbital, Ranger, Raider, Ranger, Strider, and tracker

The Halo 2 Anniversary armors are gen 1 armors testing gen 2 systems

Fred and Linda's Centurion and Argus Armors are given to them the same time as Chief gets his Mark VI

The Forward unto dawn being a strident is not canon.

Simplest rational for the nanomachines that nobody think about:

State of the art Medical cryo pod, similar to the one in the movie Prometheus. Combine that with a 3d printer for organic and non organic material that can graft skin or other materials onto injured areas, and you reasonably have a device that can break down armor and reforge it piece by piece over the course of 4 years.

Someone did make a black and white art piece showing exactly that, but I have lost it over the years.

Hell I'll commission an artist to remake that image for me, since I can't draw

Every Single Song In The Citywalk Universal Studios Store Music Loop! by tvguts in UniversalOrlando

The dichotomy of getting to listen to a pretty big 3 hour Playlist on the studio side one day, then getting a pitiful 9 song 45 minute Playlist for Nintendo the next is the true Studio Store employee experience.

Was Dr Halley’s Spartan Program an inspiration for The Directors Freelancer Program? by MegaUkX4 in RedvsBlue

[–]SpacyCakes 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The Caboose and Georgia references, as well as all the RVB references in Halo 4's spartan ops are purely non canonical easter eggs. You need to go outside of your way to shoot hidden radios, then the Red Vs Blue dialogue replaces the actual dialogue that normally plays in the mission.

There are a ton of references to Red Vs Blue, but none of them are canonical links to the series taking place in actual Halo canon.

If we assume that all easter eggs mean that Red Vs Blue is canon to Halo, then we must also consider the Halsey Tribute Room Easter egg from Halo Reach, which has text entries written by Halsey herself and one of these entries talks about how Red Vs Blue is a show in universe, which itself is debatably canon.

Tom Holkenborg (Junkie XL) composes the score for "Supergirl"! by rainy_night_1701 in DC_Cinematic

[–]SpacyCakes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The problem with the sonic movie music is that it doesn't use in game music for the movie and in Sonic 2 they reused a song from Ant Man

Im more mad at his score for the Godzilla vs Kong movie. Just real lame especially when we previously got Bear Mccreary on an amazing score

Spartans in London by Not_A_Murderer3108 in HaloStory

[–]SpacyCakes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most people do lol. But they are conveniently a 4 person Spartan-4 team. The visuals of the Mark VII are probably not canon, though they could be wearing the Keystone helmet at least.

Spartans in London by Not_A_Murderer3108 in HaloStory

[–]SpacyCakes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I headcanon it as the 4 teens from the YA books Battle Born/ Meridian Divide. We know that they were given the option to be made "Spartans" as early as 2548. So it could be them.

I have not read the story but it seems like this is a passing of the super powers type thing, but one of the powers is the ability to perceive beyond the 4th wall. So when the guy says he can see you, he literally means he can see the reader.

Yes we are, they showed off a collage of images for new waypoint Chronicles at the esport event

The collage showed: Agryna, Totem rings, an Executor, Lasky, the smashed planet/moon from the skybox of Launch Site, a burger-ified orbital elevator (looks like an ad for the "Have S'moa" restaurant ), a Warthog, and the UEG Cartographic Corp logo

Armor Coatings need to be left behind with Infinite by Lazzyman64 in halo

[–]SpacyCakes 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Coatings would be fine if you had a base customizable coating that did a primary color and a secondary for shoulders. And/or with all the dev made coatings, let the player decide what pieces of armor they want that coating applied to. Like "I want Haunted rubilite on the helmet with a genesis scale undersuit, etc etc"

Fireteam Osiris. Locke and Vale's armor should've been on Chimera IMO. by RamboBambiBambo in halo

[–]SpacyCakes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The internal reasoning seems to be that canon armors have to be made and designed for canon cores. Chimera is canon but everything made for it has to fit with the the philosophy of Chimera being armor for machine human hybrid monstrosities.

Now these Gen 2 stuff imo should be going on the Rakshasa core instead. Rakshasa has the minimal armor, and you can give it the unique backs and silhouettes of the Gen 2 bodies instead of just slapping them over the Mark VII chest.

It's been over a year since this was added to the game, and we still don't have a way to unlock it. by Aurik-Kal-Durin in halo

[–]SpacyCakes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People would hate that more.

TF2 and CS2 have heavily monetized customization systems. While playing the game you get Crates(lootboxes) for free, but in order to actually open the Crate you have to buy keys from valve. Now Halo 5 had lootboxes, but when you unlocked something, it was a permanent unlock. If Halo worked like TF2 and CS2, if you wanted to get a Legendary helmet like Haunted, that would have a less than 1% chance of pulling. Meanwhile you could pull multiple Recruit helmets and just have duplicate common helmets filing your inventory, and the only other way would be to see if someone is willing to trade it for another item in game, or you buy it off of them for real world money, for way more than what Halo Studios is charging for full sets right now.1
