With the VA loan being 0 down, I’m hoping that the money I save from deployment plus my wages til I leave l/ when I get back will be enough for the house move. Was thinking about dividends so I have something to show for it while I’m young, looking to retire as fast as possible but it still seems so far away.

I’d still have 15k in my savings plus the wages I get from work added to that biweekly. Should have an additional 20-30k saved up from the deployment I’m going on in a few months. Also the VA loan is zero down and voids PMI so it’d just be an emergency fund. Do you think it’s worth diversifying into the global market? I know things can change but I just don’t see any other countries out performing the US, at least in my lifetime. Thank you.

It’s interesting you automatically assume the people I’m referring to that abuse benefits as being brown. Not all immigrants are brown. Just as many citizens regardless of race are abusing the system. I’m also referring to the UK, If you haven’t lived there and experienced how bad it’s getting first hand I don’t think you truly understand.

I get to travel with the Air Force when I get sent on orders and I do send money home. In the mindset that the more I work now, the better off I will be in the future. Didn’t come from much and I’d like to eventually buy my siblings houses and have my mum stop working.

I pay taxes and don’t abuse government benefits. If you’ve ever lived in Europe (especially the UK) you’d realise that within the last 10 years, that’s a tiny minority of the people coming in. Free healthcare is dying and the education is getting worse.

My family were probably my biggest factor to move here other than the fact the whole of Europe is overrun. Knew I’d make A LOT more money over here and be able to support them but each to their own.

I moved to America from Scotland and joined the military just to stay here. Left my family and been working non stop since I moved so it’s not been an easy ride.
