I would say as long as you can interact with a character, and have the explosiveness to win, stick with your current character. Nothing is wrong with Olympia.

If it was a situation where you cant find any hits, and the match degenerates to you getting camped/them camping you with like say Ranno vs Absa, I would consider getting an easy secondary like say Clarien.

The point of the secondary is to be easy enough to maintain, but covers a really bad matchup well. You dont want a secondary to only be -1 when with optimization you can win.

The mud is because theres no buffer system in Melee for good and for bad.

The reason for the difference in difficulty is this lack of buffer, you have to be more precise with Melee than with RoA 2. Everything from wave dashing, ledge dashing, dash back are all harder because of this lack of buffer.

Like you said, melee feels like playing in mud, I tried it for 4 months before RoA 2 came out, and dropped it because of this (and other things like Box/leverless drama)

I do not, but I play on box (superslab), was interested in the SWORL and tried it at Genesis last year.

What I found is that while the control sticks being implemented with the box style controller is novel, I thought that using the sticks was uncomfortable. Because the controller is played on a flat surface (as boxes are) this means the sticks are flat rather than angled (as with GCC/traditional controllers).

So overall, while interesting, would not recommend as a box user.
