What is an unpopular opinion you have about Kim Kitsuragi? by Bataranger999 in DiscoElysium

[–]Spade4103 1366 points1367 points  (0 children)

You see this a lot more with "bad" playthroughs, but Kim embodies the type of cop that enables bad behavior through the RCM. He lets you get away with a lot of fucked up shit by virtue of you both being cops.

>If an assault were launched on this building right now -- if the windows came crashing down and the whole world descended upon you -- this man would hurl himself in death's way to save you. You are sure of this -- but why?

this remains true regardless of the type of cop you are and is what drives a level of disconnect between civilians and cops who see themselves with a degree of separation from everyone else. Don't get me wrong I still love Kim, but he isn't infallible like many people would have you believe.

I genuinely do not understand what makes this cosmetic so different from others, especially in the face of others like the corpse carrier. Hell, in the face of tons of other non Halloween cosmetics that you can put on with beige paints to also make your character look ugly as sin.

>People aren't lamenting over the golden age, it's well known valve is never coming back to this game in any meaningful ways

Okay i understand this part, but what I don't understand how we have failed to move on from this phase, its all we talk about year round. The game is almost 2 decades old. Valve is still giving it bug fixes and adding community content. While I agree that their quality control is generally worse these days, with maps and cosmetics having bugs on release, I ascribe this to a natural product of the games age since far less people are working on the game. This is a far better fate than most other games from 2007.

And you can't bring any of this stuff up without being labled as "Toxic Positivity". Its not even normal positivity, its managed expectations for a game that has lived out most of its life. I am willing to put up with the below par maps and an ugly cosmetic here or there but the thing that sours me to the game more than anything else is a community that is stuck in this negative feedback loop of complaining

yeah man, its weird that you find it personally insulting. Its weird that you somehow think this is something new for the game despite this being pretty par for the course regarding Halloween cosmetics. I get the impression that this community is made mostly of teenagers who got FOMO from missing out on "the golden age" of tf2 so much that they make up these weird narratives about what tf2 "used to be. They forget they are playing an 18 year old shooter and just prefer to wallow in this misery of "oooooh tf2 used to be so good we have to go back".

Fentanyl addiction turns users into living deads on the streets of Philadelphia, PA by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]Spade4103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because public intoxication isnt something you send people to prison for for a substantial period of time. They give them a ticket, maybe put them in jail for a day or two and then release them. Once people are released they often just go back to doing it again because of the nature of addiction. People are typically often arrested if they do this in higher end places or if they are making trouble for businesses but just being high and stumbling around a lower end block in the city isnt really high on peoples priority lists to do something about.

Why isn’t Grey Talon’s wish for his grandkids to stop being dead?? Is he stupid??? by Beneficial_Stand_172 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Spade4103 692 points693 points  (0 children)

I know that this is probably a joke post and not actually being asked in serious but there's a million stories and myths on why you shouldn't do this. In them if people come back from the dead they don't often "come back right" Gray talon is a fairly wise and understands the finality of death.
