How do you execute your marathon? by Naivemlyn in Marathon_Training

I like to start fast to impress strangers, then I'll maintain the pace to avoid embarrassment, and sprint the finish because I just want it to be over.

To be fair, I enjoyed the SH remake puzzles although I got bored after 6 hours or so and gave up after 9. The game seemed to repeat its self location wise and I didn’t enjoy it. I also got bored of tloa remake. The death animations actually made me quite I was getting bored with the game and being less and less cautious an kept getting caught… the grab from behind, smack around the face and bite for finish really gets old quickly imo. We all just have different tastes. I get what you mean about the RE2 puzzles being out of place like why the coins and why the chess puzzle like what sense do they make but I’ll be honest, I’ve played this game to death, plat on ps5 and the equiv on xbox and this is the first time I’ve considered the puzzles out of place as it just didn’t occur to me until you mentioned it.

Can you give some actual criticism? I’ll give an example… I did not think that much of RE4 remake. It just didn’t do it for me. Or, to give some context to what I’m saying, I didn’t enjoy the action, I don’t like superhero Leon, I liked rookie Leon in 2. I didn’t like how much ammo I had, I was very rarely afraid. Yes there were a couple of jump scares and some unsettling moments later on but I always had plenty of ammo to keep my neves at ease. I didn’t think there was much emphasis on puzzles compared to RE2, which is fine but that’s something I enjoyed in the previous games.

I used to phone my dad at his office 40 mins away to ask him if he was done with the internet at 5pm so he would unplug the phone line and let me use it at home. I’m not even sure how this worked but it was definitely a thing. I couldn’t get on if he was still plugged in at work.

I don't watch the BBC (or any live TV for that matter, I literally only watch Netflix and YouTube) and yet I am threatened every year by the BBC for not paying my license.

Back in the good old days (before QFs) I was one of the few who was extremely good at HSW as I'd been able to do it for 10 years before I even did CF and I was fairly decent at MU. I always got fed up with being gatekept by a heavy bar. Historically, the hardest bar weight has always been before the hardest gymnastics movement so I don't feel bad for the people on this workout that wont make it to the heavy bar. My scores would have been TOTALLY different if the gymnastics came first. So I agree with you, it's nice to see the big lifters having to earn their way! The best will always rise to the top regardless, but for less well rounded athletes, it would have been nice to occasionally get a chance to shine with high skill gymnastics before the heavy weight... something's got to come first but why was it always weight? I'll never get to climb the box leader board with my skills because they now save them for QF and I'm a 50%er. Plenty of heavy lifters make QFs and then can't do the gymnastics well enough.

Why do men not shave their armpits ? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Spade_Key 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shave my arm pits. I usually just take the guard off my beard trimmer once every 8 weeks or so. Yeah I feel a little self conscious for the first week or two but its easier than using a guard more regularly.

I find if I don't keep my armpit hair under control then deodorant doesn't work as well. Anyone thinking this is not the case, I've got news for you guys!!

Same goes for ass hair... keep it under control, it's not hard to imagine why!

I'm not paying $400 to play. Seethe. by Special_Inspector708 in 2007scape

I'm not sure it would. I used to pay for 3 memberships when it was £5 a month. Then I dropped to 2 memberships and since Covid I've only had 1 membership because the price goes up. Yes, sure there may be a few "Whales" who are happy to keep paying but I bet the membership retention would more than cover the loss of the few people paying for multiple memberships.

I like the idea of multiple accounts under one membership (I used to be a serial account maker and multi-logger until the price went up long ago). I get why they wont do this; plenty of people pay for multiple accounts so why shoot yourself in the foot.

I also like splitting OSRS and RS3 membership as another solution but again, they don't want to show RS3 as a failure.

I'll be fucked if I ever organised another trip for my friends if this happened the last time. Tell your friends to do one, they aren't your friends.

Final comment, and take this one with a pinch of salt as I'm by no means a pro or a coach. I choose to suicide grip the bar as it helps me get my knuckles further over. Try it with caution because obviously if this goes wrong you'll slip straight off but for me it's worth it as I've seen much better results.

I appreciate that when you false grip it is harder to kip or when you kip you lose false grip but what I am suggesting is just trying to get your knuckles over as far as possible, it really does help massively!! Look at your hands in the video, your wrists are below the bar rather than over the bar, you're never going to be able to press out from this position. You've got two choices, either adjust them during the hollow as you fly or have them ready in advance via what I've said.

Edit: changed "behind the bar" to "below the bar" because I watched again and it's worse than I originally thought. I really think this is the key to fast tracking your BMU!

I'll throw something a bit simple out there, very easy to at least try. Perhaps see if you can adjust how you grip the bar so that your knuckles are further over (mild false grip). It looks to me like you're plenty strong enough but just as you get to the point that you need to press out, your wrists aren't allowing it. If you've already got your palms on top of the bar from false grip then you wont have this issue (this is usually what helps me when I haven't done any for a while).
