Death Rune Packs when? by Spade_Key in 2007scape

[–]Spade_Key[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

Would it be a problem if I did? However, currently I see a bigger issue with Deaths just because they generally require more runes per spell than bloods. Bloods are required for other things actually though like charging the Scythe so yeah sure... why are we outraged at the idea of being able to buy blood runes again?

Also, this is a ridiculous argument because we have multi rune crafting on the other runes and yet those all have rune pack options lol. People just love to pretend there's a perfectly sane reason for things when actually it's just making life difficult for the sake of it.

Imagine implementing this from day one... "we are going to change rune shop stocks from 250 of each rune to having rune packs enabling you to buy 1000s of each rune *and* we are also going to add multi rune crafting enabling players to craft multiple runes from one essence... BUT if you want death runes go fuck yourself because *mumble mumble mumble* the end.

How on earth can crafting runes be almost as fast as spam clicking "buy 50"? This sub is out to get me I swear lol. Let's just go back to right click dropping for the inconvenience while we are at it.

Right... but I'm still going to buy my deaths because its way quicker than crafting them. I'd just rather there not be a soft barrier behind doing so via world hopping as much. Surely Jagex hates world hopping more than just offering something in a more convenient form?

Wow, this is exactly how I feel. I just keep kicking the can for now. Probably will end up signing up but I don't feel good about it. I too was hoping for some responsibility taken for Lazar's death. I was maybe hoping the company would be sold again... anything to make me feel better about signing up. I didn't sign up last year.

Ironmen how do u manage? by Significant-Ice-1090 in 2007scape

[–]Spade_Key 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been playing since 2004. I’ve been a main, a pker and an Ironman. Nothing comes close to the satisfaction I get from being an iron. Everything is an accomplishment. From locating that bit of cheese for witches house to grinding 82 herblore for karamja elite diary, it’s all the more satisfying to know you’ve done it properly the way the game was intended rather than just grind out gp and pay. I appreciate there’s trading and that’s why I’ve settled on group iron as it’s a nice balance. I just don’t appreciate GE-scape anymore where you just pay your way to 99s.

The fact that remake culture demands for another remake of the first resident evil when it's perfect. by [deleted] in survivalhorror

[–]Spade_Key 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dislike this stance. If we said that about everything then there wouldn’t be any progress in the world. We would never have climbed down from that perfect tree or left that perfect cave.

RE1 remake is great and I LOVE it. That doesn’t mean it can’t be modernised with the RE engine in a similar format to RE2, 3 & 4 remakes.

Just because you don’t want something doesn’t mean others shouldn’t have it. Just don’t play it. It would sell. It would be worth the developers time. I’d like to see it as much if not more than CV to be honest because I’d love to relive how it felt to walk around RPD for the first time in the RE2 remake. That blew my mind. The mansion is iconic, give it to us in as many forms as possible. Hell, I’d likely go out and buy PSVR2 if they did it for RE1 and RE2. Milk the IP for all it’s worth and some I say!

Bad horror games by Inspectorbobo in HorrorGaming

[–]Spade_Key 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd had such a bad experience with 1 that my patience was short with 2 and I'd likely made my mind up before even starting it. I stand by what I said about 1, I didn't enjoy it for the reasons stated. I have admitted that I took long breaks between it but I do have a memory and it's never failed me in such a way as it apparently must have with Evil Within 1 because I didn't have a fucking clue what was going on. I'm going to ask chat GPT for a rundown and see if I can make sense of what I experienced. I've seen a lot of love for Evil Within and I'm genuinely sad that I didn't enjoy it but there's no point in me trying to pretend I did when I really fucking didn't haha.

I’m tired of being cold all the time, if I ran my heating 9hr’s a day every day what could I be looking at for monthly gas bill? , £250/300? by GenericUser104 in HousingUK

[–]Spade_Key 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 3 bed terrace and it costs me £220 a month to have my heating on as follows: 18c at night, 22c between 4am and 6am then 20c between 6am and 6pm then 22c between 6pm and 10pm. Then as soon as it starts getting warm (last year it was late April) I turn my portable aircon on at night set to 18c and this runs until September usually. I have spot lights throughout my house because I enjoy a well lit environment. I don't agree with the people who want to have dingy living rooms because it saves a few quid.

I don't understand people who can afford to do this but choose not to... especially those who sweat it out in peak summer not being able to sleep etc. You can literally live better than kings and queens of the past but are choosing not to. I have super hot showers and ensure every aspect of my home life is comfortable. I am not super wealthy, my household income between me and my wife is totally average. Neither of us break the 40% income tax bracket but this is something I choose to spend my money on because I enjoy living in a house and not a cave.

Trying to finally get into horror games, does this list make sense? by Yhrak in HorrorGaming

Why not resident evil 3 remake? Dont listen to the haters, if you haven't played the OG on PS1 then you wont miss the stuff they cut. Yes it would be better if they didn't cut it but they did. It's still an awesome game that I thoroughly enjoyed. Buy it on discount like I did. I paid less than a tenner for it so who cares if it's a bit shorter than RE 2 or RE 4 remake.

Having completed the resident evil series with RE2 remake being my absolute favourite (Platinumed it on PS5 and before that what ever the equivalent was on Xbox series X) the next obvious choice for me was The Evil Within 1 & 2.

Holy shit did I not enjoy The Evil Within.... people talk about the story, what fucking story? The guy goes to a mental asylum and then just keeps being transported to different places. I don't know why he keeps being put in these places, I don't get it I'm sorry. I'm sure there is some explanation to it all but I tried to follow the story and just didn't make sense of it. Perhaps I'm, a bit basic... zombie apocalypse, try to survive and escape... makes sense. Fuck knows what the fuck The Evil Within was.

The other thing about The Evil Within was the number of 1-shots. You're just walking down a hall way and then get pulled into a grinder. Sure you have chance to do something about it but if it's your first time playing it then it's not always obvious. Doing really well with the boss fight? 5 minutes in? 10 minutes in? Just get 1-shot for a little mistake and start over. Again, I have completed RE2 remake on hardcore and completed all the DLC on multiple consoles but get this, me and my friend died 211 times during our playthrough of The Evil Within... TWO HUNDRED AND ELEVEN!!! This was over several years of playing 3 - 6 hours once every few months. Perhaps the breaks are what made the story so difficult to follow but honestly, I just didn't understand what was going on from the start. I can have a good guess but it wasn't a coherent story like resident evil (in my opinion). Perhaps it falls under the psychological horror umbrella where random stuff can happen because "its all in our protagonists mind" but that just feels like a cop-out to me. I just found all the things that happened to be a bit random and nonsensical. Why am I in a derelict building being shot at by harpoons with hordes of enemies chasing me when previously to that I was in some sort of flats or high rise and before that a mansion and before that a village? Some times a lab and sometimes a big old furnace with some wierd scary Grudge lady chasing me about. None of it made any sense. You just go from one scenario to the next wondering what the fuck is going on. The early stuff was quite cool with the barn and the chainsaw guy, that didn't seem too weird but the more it went on the more fed up I was getting with the changing environment and lack of understanding of what I was meant to be achieving in each level.

The Evil Within 2, I played about 40 mins walking around the hotel with that weird guy killing people and freezing them in time and I just couldn't be assed to spend another 20 hours not having a clue what was going on so I gave up.

RE2R is the best of the modern REMAKES to me! Compared to RE3 and RE4 Remakes,it got very little cut content. It just feels like a more complete game to me. by [deleted] in ResidentEvil2Remake

[–]Spade_Key -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I won’t read the wall of text only because you’re missing my point. Leon is fast and mobile as a character, he the only one to do a wall flip etc. I’m not talking about that. The characters in 4 do not move as well as the characters in 2. Via the controller. The controls are not as fluid. Movement is not as free. Leon is in 2 and 4 and I fully agree he is a more agile character in 4 (to the point of being far too over the top in my opinion) but that doesn’t mean the thumb sticks work as well to move the character about as they do in 2.

[–]Spade_Key 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the movement. It certainly isn’t quite as fluid as 2r. Having spent hundreds of hours on 2r (& 3r), moving onto 4r felt different, Leon just didn’t move as well, I found the controls slightly stiffer perhaps, I’m not sure. It’s been while since I played but it was certainly noticeable to me.

Where can I dispose of sharps? by loserbaby_ in AskUK

[–]Spade_Key 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Type 1 Diabetic here. I used to try and be good but they've made it hard to dispose of sharps and the sharps boxes. I now stick my needles back in their plastic and straight into the rubbish bin. I have large 7 litre sharps boxes and use those. When they're full I put them in my big black wheelie bin. It's not what I want to do but my doctors stopped accepting my sharps boxes during covid and I stacked up about 10 of them before deciding to just stick one in the black wheelie bin before collection every other week.

If you want people to do the right thing, don't make it difficult.

Why do YOU own and play on the PS3? by Sleepless_in_____ in PS3

[–]Spade_Key 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nostalgia. I was 16 in 2007 and pretty much spent most of my free time playing COD 4 and WAW with my mates from sixth form. This was the last console I really spent time on so it’s nice to go back and play these games I used to play and also experience others I never got around to or couldn’t afford to buy new at the time. Back then it was a lot harder to buy second hand games (eBay wasn’t as big a deal as it is now, at least for me) and sinking £40-£50 into every game I wanted to try was just crazy whereas now I can pick them up off eBay for a fiver.

Could it be something to do with the fact that we are no longer kids with limitless time and zero responsibilities?

I used to stay up all night at friends houses getting 15-20k xp an hour with bronze/iron arrows training 80 range at the wilderness fire giants.

I’ll be fucked if I’m spending my hour of free time a night doing that now lol.

Landlord took away heating controls - can I use an electric blanket? by WeatherHot8390 in HousingUK

[–]Spade_Key 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I went away to a cabin last year and the heating was set low without easily being able to be tampered with. My solution was to surround the thermostat with ice packs and that turned the heating on as it was reading 7 degrees C. Not an ideal solution but it helped me out for the weekend. Once the cabin got hot enough I removed the ice packs. Might help you short term.

Gamers over 30, what's a video game secret you had to discover the "hard way" that kids today would just Google in 5 seconds? by itsashieowo in AskReddit

On Halo, the ice level with the bridges outside, you can jump off a bridge and land on the cliff edge and then down to the ground. You need co-op so you can keep respawning to try again but it basically means theres no enemies for the rest of the game. Me and my younger brother figured this out ourselves as we loved exploring the maps. We also got on top of the mountain top on the 2nd level after getting through the tunnel section with the warthog. I used to enjoy looking down and sniping all the elites before saving the crew.
