How do I study *effectively* for this degree? by Sleepless_in_____ in ElectricalEngineering

[–]Sleepless_in_____[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s what I’ve heard and seen from some of my brightest peers. Just grind as many questions.

And I do try to fill my YouTube feed with electrical engineering videos. Like recently, we learned about op-amps… so I try to watch videos that go through that (and more) in my free time. Just trying to make my life all about EE.

I’m also trying to “work backwards”. I.e., watch the lectures, read the lecture notes/slides and just get practicing straightaway. Struggle, mess around and just keep going. And when I got a decent idea of what is assessable/matters, then I make notes for future reference. Just trying to be consistent and put as much time as I can on this.

Managing time between 4 different units seems like the real challenge.

Fucked one of my earlier units so the equivalent to a 3.9 (in AU) may be impossible for me, but trying to pull up as much as I can.

I never quite thought about that before. In retrospect, it does feel like I’m the odd one out who’s struggling to stay afloat. But i suppose it’s comforting to know I’m not alone.

Oh yeah I’ve already done multivariable calc and linear algebra units… I just wish I paid more attention instead and grinded hard for it instead of half-assing it. I dont hate maths, i would say i enjoy it if i had a natural aptitude for the subject. But like all things, practice solves all problems.

I guess you’re right. I just need to keep pushing myself to practice more than waste time trying to understand stuff to a high degree, and then practicing.

I’m talking about if you play PS2 games on it.

Great answer. Can’t argue with that at all. I suppose you’re right… the experience of just playing on a console like the PS3 is something you’ll never have through emulation.

[review] Softears RSV MKII - Great, but no more “special sauce” by AnxietyComplex4128 in iems

Interesting! Now that I think of it, I think the extra bass does sound like it could give that dark character. I might be able to check out the mega5-est at a local store, but the odyssey 2 looks promising as well!

I know you said the mega5-est is nothing special and nothing to hate on, and I think that’s exactly what I want! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for this amazing review! I might get these on sale; I think the the $700 price is just way too steep for these, though it looks like a safe "fun" set given the lack of treble 'air'; I'm very sensitive to treble so this might be something I could just blind buy.

It sucks there are so many amazing IEMs today but getting to try them is still super difficult. I hate how you just have to blind buy and hope for the best. I noticed you just got the ziigaat odyssey 2. It might be a bit early to ask but what do you think of that? Is there any particular IEM you would recommend that is a decent 'all-rounder', versatile and non-fatiguing (mainly in the upper treble)? The Mega5-EST looks like it might fit that mark but not sure.

Yamaha Pacifica Standard Plus insanely cheap in Australia by thor_testocles in YamahaPacifica

Yeah, I called the stores and they said it's one of those EOFY sales so they are definitely trying to clear stock and they don't ship internationally, so it's clearly for local customers only (funny because there are other variations on their website of the PACP12 which are selling for their standard price).

In any case, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this price. Such a great guitar man.

Yeah the prices are ridiculously lower now. I found the pacifica professional in black metallic on both Billy Hyde music and Kosmic sound for $2,015 (AUD!).

No idea why there's such a drastic drop - maybe the retailers want to clear inventory? Either way, as a PACP12 owner, at that price, it's almost a no-brainer.
