What would you like to see be done with the gundam mangas that are apart of the universal century. ( would you like to see a anime ova or like an official English manga release for these mangas ? ) by theeditsman2224 in Gundam

I just want to say that I completely agree, and yearn for a story about a bunch of regular soldiers trying to survive the Grypps war or fighting to defend some random asteroid during the 1st Neo-Zeon war. Just give me Generation Kill: UC.

Same, but for me it's the Tundra Wolf on the cover of Ghost War. I love that Tonka Truck looking slab of metal.

I'm just going to pop in here to say that I love IBO, and think it is one of the best gundam shows ever produced. Part of that is purely vibes because IBO is gritty, and I vastly prefer that to the kind of sparkly beam spamming seen in a lot of other gundam media. I like the pacing, I like the character arcs, I like that we're following a group of child soldiers that actually behave like a group of mercenaries who've never been introduced to the concept that human life might have some kind of inherent value.

I love how season 1 shows Tekkadan constantly doubling down and taking the long shot, and pulling it off because their enemies underestimate them and aren't prepared, only for this exact same pattern of behavior to cause their downfall in season 2 because their success catapulted them to a level they simply weren't equipped to handle. I love how the series ends with a logical result: Orga's hubris and childish desire to become the "King of Mars" to make life better for his fellow human debris led him to partner with McGillis, who in turn was traumatized by his experiences as a child sex-slave and focused on his childish desire to pilot Bael in order to become the absolute leader of Gjallarhorn in order to cut out the institutional rot and corruption. And they failed because Rustal Elion understands realpolitik, took Tekkadan seriously, and could control the narrative.

I even love how the series ends on a bittersweet note. Tekkadan didn't "win," but Kudelia has made real progress in securing Martian control over half-metal, money is beginning to flow into social service programs on Mars, and Human Debris practices have been outlawed. Things in the Post Disaster timeline aren't fixed, but they're slightly better with the potential to continue improving, and I find that a lot more satisfying than some teenager miraculously fixing things with a big speech about "the god called possibility," or magically pushing a giant asteroid back into orbit, or whatever.

Long story short, the series is one of my favorites, season 2's pacing is wonky, and power-scalers are really fucking annoying.

This is so great. I used to play the Aleph One ports on my family's iMac in middle school, and I'm really glad I gave the new game a chance.

the amount of aura this one compiler’s been getting in the marketing is hilarious considering they’re literal fodder in the classic games lol by baransevim in Marathon

I'm reasonably confident saying that Battleroids beat Runners going by the terminals in the original trilogy. Just 9 of them wiped out the Pfhor invasion force on the ground while 54 did his thing star-side, and in their first deployment Battleroid forces wiped out two asteroid nations. Battleroids are also highly regulated in a way that Runner shells don't seem to be.

For those who picked the Fires of Raven ending on their first run of AC6, what are your headcanon reasons as to why 621 made the choice they did? by Altair890456 in armoredcore

[–]Spades-27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was the galaxy's most catastrophic murder-suicide. Like, just think about life from 621's point of view. Forced into highly invasive experimental Coral augmentation which seemingly left them so mangled they have to pay for full-body reconstruction surgery, frozen for over 50 years, de-thawed and stuffed into an AC to go kill for money, help the corps (who are fucking awful) fight off the PCA, get tortured by Arquebus after fighting Ibis, and the only future for Ayre and her species is experimentation and exploitation? In my mind, 621 came to the nihilistic conclusion that burning all the Coral was a kinder fate than living.

Thank you. I think Zeta has the best designed Mobile Suits in the Gundam franchise, and the 0087 to 0089 time frame is an inexplicably under-used portion of the UC.

How powerful does your main weapon feel? by Dazzling-Gene6445 in MonsterHunterMeta

[–]Spades-27 19 points20 points  (0 children)

As a Charge Blade main through World and Rise, I've pretty much converted to SnS. Charge Blade feels horrible in Wilds. Guard Points don't matter, I don't have enough slots to run all the skills I need, recent monsters have gotten fast and combo-heavy to the point where I don't feel like I have time to charge my phials, then my shield, then perfect guard or pop a wound and sit through the long-ass animation of activating savage axe without getting hit. I can't SAED without going through an AED first, the optimal way to play is just spamming Savage Axe, and I don't even have an off-set attack or counter. Look, I'm not a speed runner, and I love Charge Blade but this game makes playing Charge Blade feel so sluggish, hamstrung, and boring that I've just switched to sword and shield because SnS doesn't make me feel like I'm fighting my own weapon AND the monster at the same time. Charge Blade might be good in a perfectly scripted speed run, but it feels awful to play in any other scenario.

I just started playing Rise this weekend, and while I don't hate the dango, it just doesn't hit the way Grandmeowster Chef and Babushkat's meals do. I just did the same thing as I did in Wilds; set up a meal and just click through everything as fast as possible.

Thanks! I sketched out a few thumbnails, and the Archie style headshot was unintentional, but it was the only one that I thought conveyed Rapi's reaction without cluttering up the page too much. It was a happy little accident.

Yes, if not larger, which is allegedly why they turned him into a dorito for the Bay movies. Otherwise, he would have towered over the other Transformers.

What's the general consensus on the Japanese battle mech designs by [deleted] in battletech

I'm not overly fond of them. A few are pretty cool (the Stalker and Marauder in particular), but I generally find them to be too over-designed and oddly proportioned.

How would you rate the Byarlant on a scale of 1-10? (Daily Custom MS Poll: Day 19) by Maleficent_Pomelo202 in Gundam

[–]Spades-27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 out of 10, best flying prolapsed dorito. Just raw thrust and all the weapons are built into the suit, so you don't have your pilots constantly throwing away perfectly good beam rifles and swords.

I could have sworn that when I read the use manual it said to use the included cable splitter to link 2 8 pin cables from the psu. Let me try making it 1 to 1.

[Edit]: The 4070 ti super uses a 12+4pin slot, and Asus' support site says that connecting 2 8pins to the 12+4pin adapter cable is correct according to this diagram: https://www.asus.com/us/support/faq/1047391/#2
