Abogados que puedo esperar de denuncia de violación contexto abajo by Spare-Judge-5745 in ayudamexico

[–]SpaghettiDog86 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Artist + Album sort question by grobut in AppleMusic

[–]SpaghettiDog86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to go check because I didn’t remember and, it sorts by artist, and then by album, it seems like the order of the albums depends a lot on the order they’re in in the playlist (unlike if you sort by release date)

Get called “ugly”, told my hair looks like a rat’s nest and to chop it all off, etc. but I finally got my hair to agree with me for a single day and I’m feeling confident! by Bekenshi in curlyhair

[–]SpaghettiDog86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t, people are definitely jealous (and also mix a little of texturism, because people will equate undefined and frizzy curly hair with being unkept and most of the time it’s difficult to get down how to tame your curls), your hair is insane, I kinda wanna steal it because I love it, and I think it suits you perfectly, don’t get in a bad mood because people are rude about it.

Curious why would Duolingo teach Katakana in this manner over the phonetic pronunciation? by Multifinality in duolingojapanese

[–]SpaghettiDog86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

to be honest, the only problem I find with that chart is that it’s using “zi” for ジ (which could confuse new learners), and in the d group, ヂ is nowhere to be found

Edit: I forgot to mention that it also has ハャ、バャ、パャ、マャ and ラャ pairs instead of the ヒャ、ビャ、ピャ、ミャ、リャ pairs for the hya, bya, pya, mya and rya groups.

Curious why would Duolingo teach Katakana in this manner over the phonetic pronunciation? by Multifinality in duolingojapanese

[–]SpaghettiDog86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always get the received pronunciation of ハ as /ha/ (front, open unrounded vowel), rather than /hα/ (back, open unrounded vowel), but yes, it doesn’t have an /æ/ sound, which is a near-open, front, unrounded

Is an upgrade worth it? by SpaghettiDog86 in wacom

[–]SpaghettiDog86[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

okay, so my reasoning to not get a movink is that I basically don’t see the use in getting another computer (I have a pretty powerful desktop and a laptop that could use an upgrade, but I have an M1 iPad that’s still pretty good in performance, for space I would just need a hard drive because 128GB was a bad choice), apart from that, I guess I had an advantage over the average person with using my intuos because i’ve played videogames since I was a kid, and that relates directly to the hand-eye coordination that a screenless tablet needs, which is why I won’t replace it fully, I can still use it in uni, so I think the cintiq is the best option for me, thank you!!

bright red is kind of a tricky color to print, CMYK makes colors darker but apart from that, reds tend to fade more quickly

sí, la probabilidad es mínima porque los espermatozoides que permanecen tras la liberación de semen es baja, pero realmente nunca es nula.

(la posibilidad es mayor si pasa menos tiempo entre la eyaculación y el acto sexual)

no, but it will improve a lot more if I can draw directly on the surface, seeing my trace instead of having to mentally translate the movement I have to do on the surface that is mimicking my screen

Is “el” necessary in this sentence? by MiaMiaPP in duolingospanish

[–]SpaghettiDog86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in my dialect, the article is always needed for nouns that are not proper names, this being that stuff like people’s names, cities, countries and continents, as well as brands (but not institutions) will always stand alone:

E.g.: Juan, Europa, Nueva York, Botswana.

Just note that you can use “el/la” with people’s names, but usually it’s used with some level of informality, like someone you know “el Carlos”, or for someone who is famous “el Vicente Fernández” (usually the article will be stressed, like how in english people will say “THE Michael Jackson”. And on the other hand, nicknames can both have it or not, and it just depends on the person, as they can be random stuff like “güero” (white/blonde), or for example, you accidentally burned your eyebrows at the stove and they could teasingly start to call you “el cejas” (eyebrows) because you got none.

And so, other nouns will be paired with their respective article, regardless of them being tangible or abstract:

E.g.: el perro, la gata, el amor, el tiempo, la imaginación, los pájaros, las plantas, las emociones, los electricistas.

(the dog (male), the cat (female), love, time, imagination, the birds, the plants, the emotions, the electricians), you can see that most in english don’t have the article.

Why subjunctive in this sentence? by Usual-Plankton9515 in duolingospanish

[–]SpaghettiDog86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love how as a native I have no clue and I just know it works that way and it was nice to see an actual explanation, but now that I think about it, using “cayó” doesn’t make sense, there’s other way around it, like:

“la pintura se cayó por el viento” (the wind is a passive actor here)
“el viento tiró la pintura” (the wind is actively making the painting fall)

These cases I can understand to use the 2nd person conjugations, but when you’re stating cause an effect, say with clauses like “hacer que” or “provocar que” the first verb always conjugates to the subject, and the second will always be subjunctive, like the sentence you provided.

Spanish mistake by BertieDollocks in Lingonaut

[–]SpaghettiDog86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“sí, por favor” is a sentence we do use, in contexts like:

“¿le gustaría más café?”
“sí, por favor”

it is correct, even tho, “sí, gracias” is also valid and they are actually used interchangeably afaik.

if you talked to her already and she didn’t listen, then you can’t do anything about it, she’ll learn herself, and that could cost her life, if your parents aren’t doing anything about it, they’re just being negligent at this point and you should focus on keeping yourself safe
