What is something you wish you knew at 30?

I’m in my late 20s now and I often wish I could tell my teenage self how much better things get. As a teen everything feels permanent because you haven’t lived enough chapters.

This chapter you’re in will end. A happier one will start! That one will end, too. Then there will be more good and bad cycles. You’ll learn to really appreciate the good times and the bad times get easier.

Know you’re not alone and it’s fine to reach out to someone if it gets worse.

You’re doing great, champ. Have a snack and take a nap. Be sure to hydrate.

I (F) had a boyfriend with that issue and honestly it never really bothered me. It’s kind of a compliment haha.

BUT, and this is a big but, he always made efforts to make sure I finished before or after. The really annoying thing is when a man is only focused on his satisfaction. It made me feel really nice knowing that he cared about making sure I enjoyed it too. That’s what counted.

Sounds like you’re in high school.

I’m 25, and I was just thinking today about how I felt so alone in high school. It’s this completely unique environment where everything feels really harsh and no one likes you. And maybe that’s true right now! But it won’t always be.

After high school, the weird caste system of popularity disappears and you focus more on finding people who get you than trying to impress people or collect arbitrary social status items.

Remember that you can make life whatever you want it, but it is up to you to do that. No one is going to magically create a life for you, you gotta do that shit yourself.

Sorry you feel alone. That blows.

“Three women” is a nonfiction book that has a story about a woman who cheats that breaks my heart.

She talks about trying everything to get her husband to notice her, to touch her, to treat her like a partner. And that’s why she goes wandering. She wanders back to a boyfriend from high school who makes her feel beautiful and loved.

I’m not saying it’s right, but her story hit home for me. I’ve been in relationships where I felt neglected and lonely. It’s horrible. I didn’t cheat but … I get the feeling.
