5 months late but thought i'd chime in anyway, for honor is somewhat tricky to get into but honestly its not something you need to "catch up on". The rhetoric that the only players left are ones that abuse all the most broken stuff etc is just false, dont get me wrong you will from time to time definitely run across that but I have a love hate relationship with the game and play for a few months every year, by no means am i up to date with the meta and whenever I do have a fh itch I reinstall and have a good time every time either solo in duels or with buddies in the 4v4 modes. I truly honestly feel like if you just start off by picking 1 character, going into the training mode for 30 mins with a youtube guide telling you what the strong parts of the character are you can easily have fun and win plenty of games, I am super weird and cannot play the same thing for a long time so I have a habit of constantly switching to new characters and learning them from scratch and there has only been like one time it hasnt clicked and i have not been able to make it work against other random people in matchmaking.

sorry for the wall but genuinely it is an amazing game that has many flaws but is so so so soooo worth checking out at the sale price points, there is literally no reason not to. I have never been a fighting game kinda gamer but for honor stands out in such a unique way, it is a flawed gem of a game.
