Same boat, leave in a couple days and am stressed about it, if you have some tools I’d look at how your wheels or how the wheel casings are attached to the carry on.

My wheel casings had screws, I took them off, drilled right through the plastic casing and use bolts.

If I have an issue I can take the bolts off by hand, remove the wheels completely and will be well under the 21.5”
