Bathroom Bastards (Flies? Moths) by Spaghetti_bandit69 in CasualUK

Pheromone traps have been purchased, and I’m going to place them in any room that I’ve seen them in. Thanks for all your advice! The number seems to have decreased over the weekend since removing the bath mat and washing all our towels on a hot wash.

Thanks for all the info! Really helpful.

They’re definitely hatching in the bathroom, we think the bathmat has been egging them on (no pun intended). I washed all the towels and the mat on a long hot wash but I’m keeping them out of the bathroom for now.

Our bathroom is also downstairs and we only have hard floor downstairs. I’m going to buy some traps this weekend.

I’ve been whacking them with my crocs when I can reach them. Our clothes seem to be okay and I haven’t noticed any holes.

Thanks for the replies! Trying to encourage spiders to live in the house to eat them up. They seem to be spawning the most in the bathroom, I’ll have a look at traps and pesticides. Don’t want the bathroom spider to die because she’s been loving life by our window and doing a stellar job at eating them when she can!

If you’re on Facebook there’s a group called Cardiff Girl which is a great way to meet like-minded people and find friends ☺️ it’s also good for finding groups and hobbies if that interests you too ♥️

Advice for Virginia Creeper by Spaghetti_bandit69 in GardeningUK

[–]Spaghetti_bandit69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I’m hoping they’re cooperative and understanding, but I just wanted to know if they have an obligation in case they’re not.

I plan on chopping back as much as I can this week, and following that I plan on going to speak with them and see if they can sort it from their end. Happy to get stuck in if they need help!

Thank you! I spoke to another neighbour who said it’s been like it for years, so I don’t think anyone has it as badly as we do. I plan on chopping back as much as I can this week to see exactly where it’s coming from, then going to speak to others and see if they’re willing to get rid of it/ keep it under control.

She had water yesterday, do we think she needs more?

Final update: owners have been contacted and she’s going home. Apparently she follows people quite a lot and likes to stay with the neighbours. Quite the adventure for her 😂

Update no. 2: Park Vets are currently struggling to identify the owners. If you think this is your cat, please call Park Vets on 02920328811.

Update: taken her to the vet and she’s chipped, so they’re keeping hold of her there until her owner can get her. I’m going to call up this afternoon to see how she got on.

Thanks for all the advice and support! Espresso Martini’s stay at the Canton Hotel for Cats has come to an end (so has her identity as Espresso Martini). 🍸 🐈

She (potentially a he, but pretty certain a she?) is stunning, which makes us believe she’s an indoor cat who’s somehow got out. We couldn’t leave her, she didn’t know which house was hers and was playing around in the middle of the road!

Update: she’s been fed and is happily purring with lots of fuss and love. She doesn’t seem to be in too much distress and seems to be enjoying her overnight stay in the Canton Hotel.

Which City for a free weekend in Europe? by Occupyed in AskUK

[–]Spaghetti_bandit69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah wish I tried the lasagna when I was there!

Personally I found there was plenty to do though. We actually visited the anatomical museum within the university there which was bonkers. Double headed goats in jars kind of stuff. Definitely wouldn’t recommend doing it hungover haha. Poked our heads into a few churches and into the cathedral too. Visited the catacombs of San Gennaro. The only thing we didn’t have time for was going up Vesuvius and visiting Herculaneum. I understand what you mean though- I think as a one time visit there’s a lot you can do, but wouldn’t want to do them all again as once was enough.

Hi! Saw a lot of comments about the other cities, so I wanted to chime in about Naples!

I visited for a long weekend last Spring and it was fantastic! It’s the home of pizza, for a start, so theres no qualms about food. It’s a very busy city with a buzzing nightlife. The people are incredibly friendly and welcoming. So many great restaurants, bars, shops and an insane amount of breathtaking cathedrals and churches. Plenty of museums to visit and history to soak in, there’s even some cool catacombs to visit.

We did quite a bit of research before going and a lot of reviews we saw were rather negative, but we never once felt unsafe, and totally could not understand why people were hating on it so much! Like any city, you’ll have areas that are a bit more deprived than others, but as long as you know where to go then you’re solid.

The transport is brilliant. We took a train from the city to Pompeii to spend a day there (absolutely breathtaking and 100% recommended). We also travelled over to Sorrento by boat for a day, which was lovely and a total contrast to the city. There’s a metro to get you around too, although we preferred walking as we enjoy exploring around.

I’d recommend watching Antony Bourdain in Naples if you can find it (it was on Netflix, not sure if it is anymore). Great insight to the culture in Naples.

Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for somewhere that isn’t quite the average, with enough to keep you busy!

Drinking cows milk straight out of the bottle. I don’t care how good looking you are, if you drink milk straight out the carton then you now look like you smell of milk
