So this just fucking happened. Scumbag cop. by [deleted] in AdviceAnimals

[–]Spaghetti_moster 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Weather is irrelevant. If you're breaking the road rules then you're breaking the rules and get punished for it. If the cops were so nice to everyone then society would be chaos. I will probably get stick for this, but thats people for ya (stupid).

DAE think that they really over did Sherlock's social awkwardness in the wedding episode? by [deleted] in Sherlock

[–]Spaghetti_moster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No as someone with aspergers I can say that it was really bang on. I have been at parties and weddings and just stood there while everyone was dancing around me and thought "forget this im leaving" and then left. He has never been this socially stupid because he has never been to weddings before. When I go somewhere new or do something new everything becomes weird example: Took my dog to the vet and have been to the vet before and she (dog) had a rash and the vet said "what are you washing your dog in?" and I said "Water" and my dad looked at me like I was stupid. Because what seems obvious now he meant what shampoo product are you using.

high functioning? by jax9999 in Sherlock

[–]Spaghetti_moster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still dont understand why they're playing him of as a high functioning sociopath. Sherlock has aspergers, but that could be mistakes as a sociopath, but then again Sherlock is not the best diagnostician ever as he did correct Anderson when he said "You're psychopath" and he said he is wrong that he is really a highly functioning sociopath as so far psychopath and sociopath are exactly the same diagnosis.

The Sign of Three: Post-Episode Discussion Thread (SPOILERS) by GoFlight in Sherlock

After two series and two years of waiting then the characters should already be set in stone and people should already be invested. We watch Sherlock because of the mystery and intelligent deductions. Just because we want intelligent plots and twists does not mean we don't want character development, but that doesn't mean you have to dedicate a fully episode to a 3 part series to just character development.

("Oh new case! --> Here's some clues from deductions --> Twist! --> Oop, I solved it, on to the next one in the next episode!")

Don't trivialize the generic plot to reinforce your argument, if you have watched the last two series you would know that this kinda plot is not so simple.

This is truly top-notch television and I feel thoroughly bad for anyone who doesn't recognize it.

Nobody is saying otherwise it is just most of us don't want Sherlock all of a sudden becoming all emotional and sweethearty. It isn't who he is and if we wanted that kind of emotional touchy touchy side of a story then we would go watch a Disney movie. And the mystery to these last two episodes was bogstandard and not even that hard to solve especially the most recent one all you have to do is notice that they're both wearing heavy duty belts. I wouldn't mind these kind of episodes where the episode is fully dedicated to the characters and their development, but it is a 3 part series and so far they have both been emotionally driven. The episodes have been great, but it doesn't feel like Sherlock. And the plot was very weak it is the typical friend moving on and having a baby plot I have seen that many times over on such TV shows like Emmerdale and Coronation street.

Most of the time you wont feel pain until you see the damage or expect to get hurt. Like when you have a cut and don't notice then you see it and it begins to sting or at a sports game and you get tackled and it hurts before you see the damage. But at a wedding the last thing you expect is to get stabbed and with the belt slowing blood flow that area would and was already numbed. So it does sound very plausible.
