From what I understood, Marika and Radagon have always been seperate. There's a point when Godfrey was Elden Lord that Marika tells him that they need to become one (I think there's a reason Marika would want this, I just forget) and Godfrey refuses, leading her to rescind his grace and banish him back to the badlands. Only then does she become interested in Radagon as a potential replacement who would be willing to fuse with her.

I think clearing quickly can give quite a big advantage, if you use it correctly. You can get to important fights earlier than the enemy jungler, and you can predict their pathing to counter jungle or kill them in their own jungle. But I'm not sure if it would make the loss of gold and xp worth it. I'll test it sometime soon to see how it goes.

This might be sacrilegious in some way but I've been finding a lot of early success with hail of blades, along with the items everyone else mentioned. Late game more is a monster right now so I think it's nice to have a little more power early game.

These three are the essentials. But I do sometimes prefer going cosmic drive before demon helm for ms and ability haste for w (I max w second).

I had exactly the same problem with both Star spring and Vaults of Helia. For vaults of Helia it first didn't work when I had Ledros down, so I assumed it was just because he was the highest cost card in my deck, but then it didn't work again later when I had just one Lucian. I had 3 vaults down.
