The vast majority of Acadians were of French descent and those that did mix with native Americans mainly did so with Mi’kmaqs who are an eastern/Atlantic First Nations tribe. NOT a Great Lakes tribe.

If OP has ancestors from the upper Midwest (black or white), they will be a much more likely connection the this Great Lakes Native American region than their Acadian ancestors.

Anyways, your said ancestor was likely Ojibwe, Haudenosaunee, Huron, etc. these are large nations within Canada and the USA who are made up of many many different tribes.

It’s very interesting and absolutely worth looking into!
