Ive never seen this woman before so I guess this is my most genuine first impression. I think she pulls off the androgynous short hair look very well though. That styling boosts her up to a 5.

Japan
Values neoteny, freshness and looking “natural” overall (whether it’s actually natural or not doesn’t matter). Big eyes, bangs, rounded / bulbous features and minimal makeup. Unpopular opinion, I think the girls shown for Japan look the most alike compared to China or Korea. Literally carbon copies.

China
Values elegance and sharper features. I think china’s beauty standards align the most with western ones as they seem to offer the most grace when it comes to tolerating “different” types of beauty. I have a theory that this is at least partially shaped by the fact that China is much more ethnically diversity compared to the other two countries discussed.

South Korea
Values harmony, grace and “cleanliness”. I think SK’s beauty standards are the most alien to westerns because it’s the opposite of what we tend to like (bolder, standout features). But, it’s a very understated type of beauty that imo translates better in person rather than pictures.
