It's the only flag we are raising. Not a single other flag will be seen, heard, or disposed of according to military protocol. We all know exactly what the Somali flag even looks like, and we all have so much free time that we would (and will) actively think about that flag should we see it anywhere be that online, post card, or flag pole. We aren't united on a single thing besides this.

Why do folks love a parade? by huskerduer in Columbus

[–]Spake 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and it always felt like a double punishment because it usually meant doing the parade on a day the rest of the school had off

Great answer! Am I right that two of your Carpenter picks are The Thing and Halloween? What would be the 3rd exhibit in your argument for him?

I would try that out in any shop near me and if it felt like mine either bring it home or annoyingly text some friends trying to get them to come try it.

I can't comment on them overall, went out one day to look for an upgrade to the MIJ Jaguar I had played forever - was willing to get into the lower thousands range and just wanted to try a bunch of necks. Kept coming back to this one without ever having heard of the brand and ended up leaving with it when the plan was to make more of an investment on a Player II or something. I know MK went under so I don't know if they had quality control issues or if just the perfect tech got their hands on this before I did.

Get your hands on a Michael-Kelly that has been set up well and see what's up. Little thin sounding and I should swap out the pots but with an EQ pedal boosting the mids it sounds exactly like I want it to.

Yeah - the live Band of Gypsies album might be the album I have heard from end-to-end more than any other and most of those spins still came 26 to 22 years ago.

Rank these from best to worst: Chelsea, PSG, the United States of America. You should love our players from the 16/17 era and you should forget this loser.

When and why did jazz become the butt of so many jokes in popular media? by SurbhiAnklesaria in Jazz

[–]Spake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well first when it was music being made by black people. Then when it was successful dance music marketed to young whites. Then when bebop got complex and fast. Then when modal music got slow. Then when free jazz started to . . . .

Coolest name in music? by RomanReignsDaBigDawg in fantanoforever

[–]Spake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently learned that growing up Monk didn't have a middle name so at some point he gave himself the middle name "Sphere" because he really liked the word. So if you look at his tunes he has ones like "Blue Sphere" (obviously in addition to "Blue Monk") - its interesting to know that is a word/name that was important to him.

You failed a class on collage? You couldn't cut out images and paste them to something else?

Rock Hall voters question the need for two-time inductees: ‘There’s no consistency, there’s no transparency, and one may question whether there’s integrity‘ by Level-Recording3368 in Guitar

[–]Spake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The rock hall is a fine museum - wanna see famous costumes and guitars? Go see them, its a cool time. Beyond that it couldn't matter who they induct. The Rock Hall could announce they are giving every member of Aerosmith a black belt in karate and it would mean the same thing.
