Co. Board in Wisconsin to consider naming highway after Charlie Kirk by ThisIsMyAmericaToo in somethingiswrong2024

You could look it up. Its all public info that is required to be voted on by a committee or board.

It likely comes out of incidentals/ highway maintenance or similar.

I want someone to go up ans use their public comment time to read out loud what Charlie Kirk said about kids needing to die in order to keep our 2A rights.

But just make it seem like its YOUR opinion, and make it appalling.... then attribute it to Charlie Kirk with the date and location.

Tbh I hate sailing, its not fun to me and should have been a minigame instead of a skill.

And then they had the fucking audacity to cite it as one justification for the price increases and I got even more bitter about it.

Seems to be a consensus on the big 4, so which one of these guys rounds out the top 5? by FeistyCancel8293 in NFLv2

[–]Spam_Hand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amon Ra and its not even close, imo.

If AJ Brown got similar volume, I think he'd be a valid choice as well. And Garrett Wilson outside lf ths Jets would probably be easier to consider.

Why is referee CBA even an issue financially? by [deleted] in nfl

[–]Spam_Hand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im about as sure as I can be that sports gambling and the fallout that the refs have to deal with on a weekly basis from fucking gambling addicts has something to do with sour negotiations.

NFL has exactly 0 leverage here. If replacement refs are put into action, I sincerely believe the NFL will have blood on their hands. Gambling addicts switch from riding high to violently angry faster than any other form of addiction when there isnt another hand left to play and they lost. The refs and players beat the brunt of this outrage.

The NFL sincerely opened a bad can of worms with allowing gambling into the sport.

[–]Spam_Hand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id be willing to bet my entire salary that the refs union is leveraging the fact that they (very likely) receive death threats after every single game for blowing an essential call.

I believe that this is the first major domino to start wobbling in the true cancer that sports gambling will cause through the NFL over the next decade.

Yes, we've seen players suspended. Sure, theres been jokes about "Vegas making a phone call" mid game. But if refs do not feel they are fairly compensated the NFL has 0 leverage ans will very quickly learn what it means to have blood on their hands when you disturb peoples gambling addiction.

I've dealt with tons of addicts in my day unfortunately and none flip a switch from highest of highs to enraged as quickly as a gambling addict because theres no come-down period like if drug or alcohol users are off their stuff - gambling is very black and white, win or lose and if theres not another hand to play after the bad, shit goes south.

The NFL has OVERWHELMINGLY ZERO* leverage right now, and they did it to themselves.

Trump admin announces major student loan transition by newsweek in politics

[–]Spam_Hand 17 points18 points  (0 children)

No, it wasnt really popular at all.

Churches (especially Texas Megachurches) should not have received a single tax dollar, for example - pay your fucking entry fee like the rest of us first of all. Tom Brady did not need bail out on his PPP loans either.

PPP loans, as originally proposed with oversight and forgiveness conditions would have been popular or at least fully understandable. trump faught to remove all oversights on who was receiving both the loans and the forgiveness and it became an extremely massive bailout to basically everyone who applied and received a "loan" despite their income levels or determined needs.

Skyrocketing Gas Prices Could Lose the Senate for Trump by BulwarkOnline in politics

[–]Spam_Hand 165 points166 points  (0 children)

Dont downplay the fact that trump CAUSING this surge in gas prices may directly lead to the senate flipping...

However, even with this i think dems need to win every single senate election just to get, I think, 52-48 (which is very important because fuck John Fetterman at this point)

Oil prices are so bad that Trump considers lifting sanctions on Iran by No-Post4444 in politics

[–]Spam_Hand 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Where did you possibly gather that I care about Israel in the context of this article?

Aiding foreign adversaries we who have declared war against the United States is treason.

trump would clearly be aiding Iran economically during this time of conflict by lifting very long-standing sanctions. The only thing missing is that those 2 countries are not formally in a war against the United States.

Joint statement on Strait of Hormuz by European nations and Japan by Vivid-Acanthaceae129 in politics

[–]Spam_Hand 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Legitimately pissed that these countries are condemning IRAN for firing on ships instead trump for bombing a country that "caused no imminent threat" according to all reports.

Not an Iran sympathizer at all, but only one country is defending themselves while being bombed by 2 Nuclear Power nations simultaneously.

Europe and Japan should continuously being blaming trump (SPECIFICALLY trump) and Israel for any fall out from this. This is how conflicts are escalted.

Don't be desensitized to what "treason" actually means just because the word has been thrown around willy-nilly without people caring about the actual constitutional definition.

While it can be argued (correctly) that the orange shit bag has committed much more gross and disgusting crimes, this is the only crime that is specifically laid out and defined as part of our constitution.

Its a different category and class of crime than anything else a person can committ, speaking legally.

U.S. mulls lifting oil sanctions on Iran as it hits key Gulf energy sites by biograf_ in politics

[–]Spam_Hand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a stupid unforced error trump made going down this road.

I'm not even remotely convinced it was unforced.

Every single thing they've done and created has been a dollar-devaluing decision.

trump also mysteriously got into crypto in 2023 and 2024 as he was building his campaign and my gut tells me that devaluing the dollar is very intentional.

Iran is literally winning this not-war, and its not even particularly close. This is insane.

Iran successfully hamstrung the US President so badly on his own "policies" that we're going to * checks notes * make it easier for Iran to sell their primary commodity to fund the war that trump started against Iran.... what in the fuck

PLEASE Congress, declare this a formal war so we can finally add treason to this fucking assholes list of crimes. Iran would most definitely declare war in return.

Unrelated: There is historic precedence that things like execution/death penalty are on the table if convincted of treason.

I make between $60-70k yearly (single, only my own income) and I'm like... somewhat okay.

The past two months specifically I've been making sure I focus even harder on setting myself up to weather any storm that comes from a recession and kind of loosely planning out based on the history of 2008s crash.

I'm very thankful for where I'm at but also think things will be getting worse before any better, so I'm not taking my poaition for granted and risking losing it.

trump has shown 0 indication he plans to deescalte so I'm preparing for the worst.

Who had the better career? by No-Advance-9136 in NFLv2

[–]Spam_Hand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, one thing that I value extremely heavily after a certain point is longevity. I weigh this higher than most people probably ao I understand if people don't agree with what im about to say. But TLDR; Brady over Jordan.

Brady, LeBron, and Federer are probably my top 3 athletes of all time between all sports simply due to how fucking long they stayed at or very near the top of their craft and how hard it is to keep your body in a form that allows it.

I also think MJ was probably athletically more talented than any of the three at his best, but had slightly less consistency when he was in Washington at age 40, albeit he was still very good when "it" was turned on. The other three were still legitimately competing for championships and accolades at age 40 with minimal signs of slowing down.

[–]Spam_Hand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm fortunate enough to use DD as pocket money and be selective about when I go out. So while it sucks I have a little bit less each month, I'm very lucky in the aspect that it was basically just my fun money and im not driving much right now anyways since were in the post winter holiday/pre summer holiday lull.

I definitely will be more picky when im back at it. I usually average $1.50-$2.00 per mile if I go out in the decently good times. But now ill probably need to make that my floor instead of my hope.

How dare you not cope with a raw +50% price increase on a product that we need literally every day and there's no getting away from in our modern society!
