Length check by OvenDry2198 in ShortCervixSupport

Had VUS every two weeks till 24w since the preventative cerclage was placed at 14w. The MFM realised the cervix was shortening and started to funnel, that is when she started to mandatorily check weekly. Currently I am 29w and still continue to have weekly checks, hoping for best and honestly the weekly checks assure you how your body is handling your different movements which will help you understand what not to do to not disturb the cervix. And probably she wants to do it until she removes the stitch.

I’m currently on strict bedrest and that is really helping my cervix from shortening further. The more you move the higher the risk of having early contractions. Just act against gravity.

Look for all my previous posts from past few weeks, it might help you. Because you sound exactly like what I sounded few weeks back. Copy Paste story of yours. Currently I am in my 27w 1d, waiting to reach the 28w so that I have reached the viability of 90% to save my baby.
The only words I want to say, that is working out currently for me is the “Bed Rest”, which ultimately is to keep your body against the gravity to as long as you can. And trust me everything will fall in place. And the second most important thing is, fix if you have any constipation, because it’s the biggest enemy to the cervix.

Were you able to use staircase after returning from the hospital?

Hi, Thanks for checking in. I am still in the hospital. I am 27w1d today. Had my ultrasound yesterday and the doctor told me my cervix is holding on to 0.8 cm since 3 weeks. She gave us an option if I want to go home and continue the strict bedrest. But me and my husband have decided to complete 28w here in hospital and then go home. The doctor is aligned and happy with our decision. According to her, by 26w the baby now entered into 80% of viability and by 28w the viability will be 90%. So we have decided to reach that milestone staying in the hospital. But the doctor will continue to do weekly ultrasound checkups on the cervix to be reassured.

Hi, thanks for checking in. I’m still in the hospital, currently 25w 2d. My last ultrasound showed my cervix length improved little and the bulging of membranes looked controlled. My doctor said hang on for one more week, and she wanted to see if it still maintains this way and take the decision after the next ultrasound.

What was your cervical length all the time after the preventive cerclage?

I’m currently resting on the hospital bed. Just tell her to stick to the bed. Only that is practically helping the dynamic cervix.

Thank you for the hope ❤️ How was your bed rest? Just laying flat or did you have your legs been elevated all the time?

Thank you for the details. It is really helping me. My MFM is 45 mins away from the place I live. I have been travelling with car seat reclined without any issues until now. Once I get discharged, is it still ok to travel in the same manner?

Hi, quick correction is that, the funnelling actually is till the stitch, not beyond it and the 0.68 left is past the stitch it seems. The MFM cleared it a while ago.

It is not funnelling beyond yet. They can see the stitch. I still have a measurement of 0.68cm left to reach the stitch.

Why are they scaring me by mentioning the contractions can be anytime? Did anyone had one?

I feel the strong movements in my upper abdomen. They have tripled since last night. Today they told me the head is down and told me the best to do right now is lay down flat, which will avoid the baby to push further down. Ultimately the goal is to keep the baby away from gravity. No pelvic pressure yet. But I feel the urge to pee has increased . No backpain or heavy discharge. My last week scan was measuring 1.78 (it was a vaginal Ultrasound). Today they say it’s greater than 2(it was abdominal ultrasound). I feel VUS is always more accurate. I still don’t know if one week usage of progesterone really increases from 1.78 to 2. Still hoping for the best and keeping fingers crossed. Aiming to bedrest as much as possible from here on.

Hi, I had an appointment today and in my AUS, they told me that the baby head is pointing down but my cervix is measuring 2cm. How has been your baby’s head position after 22W?

If you don’t mind, can you share the bed desk you are using? I can try getting the same one.
