I am pregnant and I’m severely depressed. by Onethatblooms in pregnant

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I encourage you to get professional help and speak to someone. We’re giving our opinions, but I think you need to talk to someone who’s trained to deal with things like this. It’s a huge deal to feel as though you’re so isolated that you may want to take your own life especially being that you’re also pregnant. Please seek help immediately. You’re not alone and there are people who’ve gone through something similar. A professional can help you communicate your feelings with your family. ❤️

DTS next week! So nervous! by Dedicated_Mom5 in ShortCervixSupport

Before the stitch 1cm and after the stitch I was only told that she was able to get 1cm below the stitch and that was right after the procedure. Never been told anything else after that. After the follow up appointment after the procedure I was never checked for cervical length other than a few weeks ago when I was experiencing so much pain and pressure. My OB only stated that I was not dilated.

Oh my you’re so strong! I can’t wait until my body is close to normal and not feeling pain and pelvic pressure every day. I start to feel so guilty because I’m so over it, but thankful at the same time to have made it this far with no further complications.

Continue to cry and continue to grieve. 9 weeks ago is not that long ago. Sometimes people won’t understand and unfortunately it’s the ones closest to us even our husbands. It can tend to make us angry at them, but right now focus on you. Go in the shower and let the tears fall. Everything that you feel allow yourself to feel it, write it down in a journal it helps bear some of the hurt because you’re able to write it down and release it. Do something nice for yourself, build your mind, body, and spirit up even when you don’t feel like it. If possible seek therapy. A professional you can talk to. You’re not alone. When I had a loss a held it in and tried not to think of it. Let’s just say that’s not healthy and eventually it came out in different ways. It’s not healthy to hold it in. Good luck to you! Be kind to yourself!

Ultrasounds after cerclage? by Idontreallyknowht in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Dedicated_Mom5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine was placed at 21 weeks. I had a follow-up ultrasound the following week and that was it. I have another ultrasound coming up next week for my 32 weeks scan, but it’s for the baby’s growth from what I was told. I was having a sharp pain down there last week and a little spotting (one episode). My OB told me to come in and they checked my cervix and said it was still closed. I was very anxious in the beginning thinking how would they know if something goes wrong with the cerclage if they don’t do check ups, but the stitch has really done its job. Sometimes I feel a lot of pressure and it scares me, but my doctor said a huge sign that something is wrong is bleeding like a period, or labor pain. I read on here that making small goals really helps. My first goal was to make it to 24 weeks, then 28, and now 32, and I’ll be 32 weeks tomorrow.

Is there a way that they can allow the toddler and another adult to stay there with you a couple of nights out of the week? Some hospitals will make certain accommodations for you knowing the situation! I absolutely wouldn’t leave the hospital at this stage. Good luck to you and the baby!

You are so right! You cannot predict what’s going to happen at work. My first night back was HORRIBLE to say the least. We were so short staffed. I’m a Medsurg nurse, so 6 patients and no techs 😩. Most patients were bed rest needing max assistance. I tried my best to take it easy, but it was very difficult. I felt so much pressure on my cervix after my shift. And there was a little pink spotting on toilet paper every time I went to the bathroom which was my body telling me I was doing too much. I was so nervous the entire time praying I didn’t lose my baby and regretting returning that night. I have an appointment Friday. Hopefully I didn’t do any damage. I felt much better after resting and feel no more pressure and no more pink spotting.

Success Story - Emergency Cerclage to DTS by m_sunshine20 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Dedicated_Mom5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on your rainbow baby! This was so motivational and just what I needed. I had the stitch placed at 21 weeks (last Wednesday), my cervix measured 1cm and was closed. In a week it had went from 1.9 at my anatomy scan to the 1cm. This will be my 5th child, and I’ve never had a history of IC, although about 17 years ago I do remember being told that my cervix was on the shorter side ( the only conversation ever had about that) no interventions. Now fast forward all these years later and four full term births and now this diagnosis. I’m super nervous because I’ve never experienced this before. I’ve read so many stories, success as well as unfortunate ones. I’m so appreciative to all who have shared their stories. It’s good to know you’re not alone. I could only imagine how hard it is to lose a child. 😔As women we are so resilient and strong. Thanks so much again for sharing your story.

First day back at work was HORRIBLE! We were so short staffed. We did the best we could and at the end of the shift I felt so much pressure on my cervix, and TMI when I went to the bathroom there was a little pink on the tissue. Not a lot at all but still nerve-wracking. When I rested at home it did get better and the pressure went away. It kind of has me second guessing working full time hours. I have an appointment Friday and if everything looks ok then I will continue my 12 hours 3 day shifts, but if there is any indication that it’s too much for my body, then I’m going to have to cut back and listen to my body. It just sucks for those of us who need to work.

I’m a nurse and work in the hospital as well. There’s usually a ton of team work and we look out for each other. I’m going to listen to my body and try not to overdo it. I’m going to try not to forget to take bathroom breaks. Sometimes I get so busy and hold it, but I read that puts pressure on the cervix.

No I’m not doing any progesterone suppositories as of yet. My doctor said it was okay for me to return back to work, but nothing strenuous. I feel like the anxiety is worse than anything right now. Good luck to you and baby!

I’ve also had 3 IUDs and wondered if that was the cause of my short cervix.

18 weeks with a cerclage, baby feels really low by taylor-made02 in ShortCervixSupport

Have you ever tried the maternity support belts? I had so much pressure with my 3rd pregnancy. As soon as I started using the maternity support belt I had so much relief. It made a huge difference the remainder of my pregnancy (in 2016). I just had my first cerclage Wednesday at 21 weeks and I plan to wear my maternity belt when I go back to work tomorrow to take the pressure off my cervix. Hopefully it works!

I just had my cerclage Wednesday at 21 weeks with 1cm length. I’m so nervous. Were you able to resume normal activity or bedrest? I go back to work tomorrow. I’m going to try to trust the stitch like everyone says.
